this thread is lacking serious stoke
went for an afternoon stroll today
i'm in the mist of returning my camera, ie, waiting for the refund check to show up.
so I brought my super high tech camera phone to provide the stoke
skied between 8000-10000 ft. aspect ranging from east, north and northeast.
nice supportable crust with a light dusting, made for groomer like conditions on the east aspect i skied. Top 20 feet or so of slope void of snow from wind event likely.
North aspect had significant loading that made for some deep snow in places, albeit it was pretty tracked up where I was.
multiple polings and hasty pits showed wind crusts in windy areas and loading in areas opposite of what's "normal" from a eastern wind. snow depth ranges from 10-48 inches.
south facing is still pretty bare
Thumbs up for run number one
skiing during sunset is always nice
even i think these observations are PISS poor
still beats parking lot pictures

good snow found on north and west aspects yesterday.
East facing was looking a little wind scorn.
still pretty shallow out there.
pray for snow
more crappy cell phone pics, this time with instagram effects

few inches of fluff and sun improved the looks of things, but still bottom feeding on the old surface. Still a nice day out on Saturday.

negative, just not a skittle suit free-rider. just trying to take advantage of the minimal terrain to ski. I'm sure you could do the whole run in the back seat with 2 turns. now that would be impressive.

^^ who cares? It's better if everybody noodle farms...more snow for the rest of us
Wasatch wiggles are such an art form. everyone hates on them. but wow I get happy in the pants when I see those.
Terrain with a northerly component around 10k skied better than expected. Amazing what a few inches will do. Its still a little rough getting over to the top of days. Cold out there but luckily the winds didn't blow very hard.

^ I saw you guys climbing up it this morning. Is it still thin to get in and out of at the bottom of the chute? I dug around a little on NE aspects around 10k. Although nothing failed while loading with the typical CT, a few light punches down from my boot after produced a scary clean Q1 sheer.

at this rate we'll be starting a wasatch pond hockey thread...
actually that could be pretty fun!
HOCKEY!!!!!!! wait whats hockey?
S/SE/E facing rode well the last two days. No significant cracking or sheering noted. Started to soften a bit after noon, so best to get after it in the morning.
Wait, what forum is this? What month is this? Someone should start a cry baby thread...
Come on guys its not that horrible out there for this time of year, is it? I am sure that a number of locals who have been around for decades would say that there have been dry starts like this and we end up with 600". Thanks for the beta BLOWhERPOW.
