Crushes loose snow and facets, provides a more solid base.

Is this storm producing up at TSV yet? Its pouring down in ABQ and Santa Fe seems like they are getting hit harder. I might say screw it and accept worse terrain for more snow on Friday morning.

Be careful - with things that fluffy, you're still going to get down to the sharks.

Winter in the SW ain't happening this year. We just got 5-8 inches on the mountain, about an inch in town but the forecast says we will be 60 degrees in Flagstaff on Monday.

I just got back from a short family trip to Taos, my first in 17 years. The fresh snow was beautiful and helped the conditions but man is that place thin. Great area - I love the vibe and sunshine.

Sorry to miss you. Would have been good to catch up. I have to head back to TSV in a week plus but pretty much have committed to bouncing and spending the rest of the season in ID/UT/MT etc..

That would have been fun, but I was traveling with a toddler so just keeping my head above water! Still it was fun to see this part of the southwest again that I only briefly visited so many years ago. I loved the sunsets, stargazing and warm sunshine. It’s very refreshing coming from the PNW

Saw they got 7 inches last night and might get more late this week. I'll be in the area next weekend. Is it even worth throwing the skis in the truck or did this 7 fall right onto the dirt? Any beta welcome.

If you have days to use there def go. W basin is filled in. Kacina was open for hiking. The hill has the best vibe.

I wouldn't pay 2 hundred whatever to ski groomers and boney off trail but if you have ikon days Taos is a good time.
