Question Paging toe punch out experts

Had some trouble last year with my Dynafit boots, the common complaint that the toes are a bit tight. This caused me cold feet on several occasions. I did bake the liners.

So I am thinking about diy toe punch and have looked at couple threads. I have seen shoe stretchers before and was wondering if anyone had tried these?

Most I have seen are wood but I know metal ones exist.

Seems like it would work but wanted to check with the wealth of knowledge that is TGR.

    Thanks

    good luck

for the $20 that a store will charge, I think it is worth it to just see them

also, do you need the room on the length/end of the toe? the Height? or the width?
is your heel back all the way? (add some tongue padding to help drive the heel back all the way)
    thin socks?
    good footbeds?
open the end seam of the liner a bit?

Are they TF-X liners? Those things are extremely short-lasted (and thus quite painful). Try another set of liners in the boots to clarify whether it's a shell or a liner issue.

    step 1: intuition liner
step 2: buy a $3k toe punch machine to DIY correctly
step 2a: spend $20 at the shop for them to do it

I have the stock Dynafit liners but I do have Intuition liners to try. Seems I could use a little more length and maybe little more width. I usually use a medium sock and have superfeet in most of my boots. I have the Titan and the CF Green machines.

I will deffnetly try the padding on the tongue.

Just trying figure out what to do before season starts.

    Thanks much.

Listen to Marshal: Use your Intuitions. (Use the force, luke!) Spend the $20 to get a shop to do the punch right. Best part is, that $20 buys you fixing that spot all season. They'll try punching a little and if that's not enough, bring em back. Every shop I've dealt with did it that way.

On a side rant: Why do some people hesitate to get their boots punched? It's a rigid piece of plastic that attempts to fit the feet of the thousands that wear it. Ski boots don't need to hurt. Go see a bootfitter. Change your world.

Well, maybe because not all of us are living beside the fucking ski lifts,in a fucking pittoresque ski town?

I had to resort once with my radiums for a 20cm piece of a broomstick and a heatgun to get things done, because the closest shop to do some mods was 2000km and 4 countries away..

And seconded to the intuitions & bootfitter,if that is possible. Remember the toecap and if you are trying to widen the splay in your toes, you can use some closed cell foam bits between your toes.

The floggings will continue until morale improves.

After repeated internets searches I finally found a local shop that hopefully can help. Got an email out to them, waiting to hear back.

Here is the website for anyone in the DC mid-Atlantic area.
