Vote here for the send a maggot to the summit charity

EPSkis andMulletizer have been nominated. We have raised 826.05 to get someone here and show them a good time.

Lets vote here on who to send, if we send both, which can be an option, I'm pretty sure all we can do is fly them in - not sure that would be enough since they do need to sleep and eat and ski still.

    Please vote!!!

I gotta read more threads, I have no idea what you are talking about.
    You are what you eat.

I can't, or more truthfully won't, vote for one over the other. Realistically, IS there enough cash already there to get them both to JH? I don't think sleeping space will be too much of a problem, someone will have floor space available for a maggot with a sleeping bag. Surely we could get some peeps together for some lift ticket sponsorship for them, I'll go ahead and commit to 1 JH day for one of them. If we can do that then all we're talking about is food & beverage, could both handle that as their personal expense?

If the money is there to get both parties to JH I think that is the way to go. I'm confident the maggots will step up as needed.

If it can only be one, either do it via anonymous poll or a simple coin toss (which is how I would base my decision in said poll anyhow).

The floor is now open for more discussion of the issue.

Is there enough money for both, hell if I know. Frankly between work, family, and summit planning I just don't have the time to look into airfare etc.

Anyone willing to step up on the logistical side of this?

Only those that contributed to the fund can vote? I thought that was what was talked about. $800+ doesn't sound like enought for the two. Maybe if we get a better idea about the costs for the two, we can set a goal (yet like those big thermometer type deals) and raise some more funds. Hell, I'm like Fred -- no idea what's going on.

    Heres the thread in Summits

Where are we needing flights from & to? JH or SLC with rides (or somewhere else entirely)? The entire summit time period, just part, or just whatever time period we can put together good airfare for with a 4-5 day span between arrival & deptarture? Kinda need to know those things before you can start looking at airfare, and the amount seems slim to both there on considering Mulletizer is coming from Europe. (Although splat had something in the other thread about a $400 fare from Zurich?)

I have sent the nominee's pm's requesting some beta on airports, and other personal info needed to determine what we need to come up with to get them out here.

I am still looking for someone to volnuteer to look into flight costs, etc.

Maybe the nominees could come up with what the would realistically need to get out to JH, and determine the cheapest way to possibly do so . . .

EP would likely fly out of BWI, and could get to SLC for around $250 right now on Southwest. No idea on what the right dates are.

if he were to fly from bwi to SLC on feb 5th and fly out on feb 16th from slc you could get tickets on travelocity for $204 and thats including all taxes amd its with NWA. Plus with NWA he can get lift tickets at JH for $12 off with a rebate coupon as can anyone else with a NWA frequet flyer card.

Holy crap! I just tried to hit the Delta website and it's down. Guess everyone is checking what 50% discountedfares mean for them.

Soon as it's up again I'm going to think about perhaps booking something out west again this season!

BWI to SLC on nwa.com for the summit period from $200

Edit: For Snowsprite, Delta.com hasn't worked all day.

Just seeing this & trying to get some numbers together on my end...

    I found NWA for $216 from the 3rd (or 4th) to the 12th - that's to SLC.

I'm a Western travel JONG, so bear with me. How does one get to Jackson from SLC? How long a trip? (Flying directly to Jackson was about $375.)

Not sure of the total $$ I'd have together by then, but If I can get out there, I should have enough to be able to eat, ski & throw a few bones at whoever is willing to donate a blanket, couch or floorspace. $67 a pop for tix is

SLC>JH 4-5 hours in good weather by road, longer in bad.

I'm sure some SLC Magnion will step up and give you a ride to/from if your schedule coincides with theirs.

Tix are $55 each with the NWA discount. You don't have to fly NWA, just need a FF account.

Edit again: I agree with teledave that if we can't get both out it should either be by coin toss or anonymous vote.

I'm working on getting both, I need mulletizer to respond to my pm to help figure out logistics.

We will look into the voting process only if we have to go there.

Anyone willing to step up and offer rides from SLC to JH and/or floor space.

I think you heard that news incorrectly, Buzz. Delta is dropping the Sat nite stayover requirement to get good rates in order to enhance their plane appeal.

edit: Hate to see one of these guys not make it....howz about continuing the fund-raising with a little more fanfare??? PM Gear will donate a gear bag or two if someone wants to organize a lottery.

as for mulletizer i'm not sure where he is in europe but i decided just to look into several major cities in europe and the cheapest i could find from europe to SLC was from amsterdam and that ran $487. Most other major cities were in the $600's

I cannot go to the summit and have avoided all discussion because I'm not. However, since their is a charitable feeling in the air, I need help, too. I can spring the financials, but cannot get off work.

So, I'm talking up a fund drive. Anyone who can help out can volunteer to work for me, oh say 2 or 3 hours each, and I can go! Who's in?

With team spirit like that, it's easy to see why your employer won't let go of you. Put me down for two hours of berating and bitchslapping. I've got some frustrations that need to be worked out. This does include airfare and credit to my mileage account, right?
