Ummmm...no. String Cheese and Talking Heads aren't even in the same universe. I think String Cheese is found in the petchoulius crappus galaxus.

    At the moment:

    "dear God" by XTC
Awesome lyrics and great build up.

Honestly, I don't have a concrete answer. But this is close for me.

Don't tell me you think anything by 311 or Outkast is even in the same league as Zeppelin, Pixies, Hendrix, any other great band/person. Please tell me it isn't so.

    What, no Zappa nominations yet???

    What about:
    Sofa
    Cosmik Debris
    We are not alone
    I'm the slime
    Joe's garage
    Suicide Chump

    . . . and so many others.

James McMurtry might even make my list.
    I'm not from here
    Jaws of life
    Shining Eyes
    Too Long in the Wasteland

"I'm not from here, I just live here. You shoulda been here bout ten years ago before this place got ruined by folks like you and me."

I think McMurtry is the best poet since Dylan, and that's saying a lot.
Reminds me a lot of wide open spaces and small towns in the West.

Agree about Weezer - would add Hash Pipe and Surf Wax America.

No Sex Pistols?? what about EMI, God save the queen, and Problems.

Iggy Pop - the passenger, lust for life,

    This could top my list....

    Louis Armstrong

    WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD

    (George Weiss / Bob Thiele)

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"

I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world

    Oh yeah

Best Zevon ever ... "I'll sleep when I'm Dead" although LG&M does rock.

Most favoritist song ever "Can't You hear me Knocking". It's got it all.
Damn, we're in a tight spot!

Reminds me of the Kiss army days.
    Listening is one thing.
Painting your face is so utterly dorkish and dweebly.

Some goes for full face paint at a sporting event.

I think these folks have mimes trapped deep inside themselves and the mimes are trying to escape.

Face paint is a cry for mental health.
