Martha's Vineyard (Next Week)

Heading to Martha's Vineyard next week. Never been, and plan to bring my car and boards. Chance of surf looks good, any advice on where/when to surf as well as access would be appreciated.

It has been a long time but I did a summer on the vineyard with a surfboard. Access can be difficult at the private beaches if you don't have access to a parking permit. Some places might still have after hours parking available without a permit but again it's been a long time so I'm not sure. Some places you can pay to park, I think South Beach might be the easiest place to find with easy access but not the best wave to surf on the island.


Edit: I'm not sure if you're on a family trip or surf mission, if quality waves are the top priority then go to other breaks on the island. Access might be more difficult but the reward will be greater

I'm there for a family wedding (4 days), however I am willing to put in the effort to surf the best waves possible during any windows of opportunity. Even if it entails my wife dropping me off for a dp and picking me up 3 hours later. Never been and want to make the most of it, and there should be some swell from Katia while we're there.

you are a stubborn prick and would come anyway.
so hear it is. up island is where its at the south shore east of rum runners is to steep except at low tide with a big swell, only exception being bars at the opining at the great ponds. squibe is one of the better spots u should be able to park now, if not late and early. anyway east from that lot past stone wall is bellses point and farther around the point is Vincent cliffs all private but u can walk it. to the west is hard bottom the mussel bar and bass stand out on the point most of its a coming tide. your other point of interest would be long beach swell anything w of s there is a lot at the north end but u might have to pay but it can be sweet.
