Yeah...I hear you on the "It's not even officially winter"...but I am spoiled by awesome California late fall storms that spackle the mountains in November and early December and then puke during Christmas Vacation. I am usually stuck in Arcata during Christmas at my Mother-in-Laws house gnawing on my arm, staring out the window at torrential rain and daydreaming about when I get back to Tahoe. Its usually the early storms that help me get through the experience...oh well.

I don't get it: Corky left the state for Thanksgiving, my g/f is in FL for two weeks. I thought that's what it takes to get things snowing.

Yesterday it was so nice out --warm and sunny--it was demoralizing.

heavenly will open the stagecoach lodge this weekend. the plan is to have it by saturday but temps may prevent. they have made snow down to within 500 yards of the base. that will prevent them from having to close because of the gondola and let them advertise 2 base lodges.
looks like kirkwood is not going to be able to open 11 so it will be 5 again, unless there is a miracle.

Anyone want to carpool up this weekend? I'm leaving from the Peninsula any time tomorrow, returning sometime Sunday afternoon. I have a bunch of stuff to take up, but plenty of room in the car. I posted the ride on Zimride and Craigslist, but no responses yet.

I'm going to Alpine, but can drop you anywhere nearby.

Dude. That was last year. And like 2004 or something. Most years recently, it has been bone dry through November, and it turns on sometime in December. It will come. I'm skiing on the 22nd, and I ca't afford a North* ticket.

Or maybe it will be one of those "lets see how many sports we can do in a day" days depending on motivation/hangover.
