LOL... not booing so much as being insanely jealous. I still got my line so thanks for saving us some snow as requested.

I know you got first chair on Stairway too... I was heckling you guys from the lift and saw Sentinel law down a nice fast 4-turn line down the clearing. I'm guessing you guys went OB in the afternoon?

I heard lots of stuff but it just sounded like muffled noise lol. Stayed in the rope. Went for a beer at noon to wait for the line to die which it didn't so we left.

That's what my girlfriend always says too.

The lineup was still gong-show after 2pm... haven't seen that in a long time.

Ha ha those guys tried to cut right in front of me and tried to steal my chances at getting gondy #2. I told them not to be mad at us because they are dumb asses. It was nice to get in two gondys before the chair opened and with impeccable timing I was able to get on the 8th chair. All I could handle were a couple of laps up there before the line got savage and the hot tub at home seemed more appealing. Slackcountry has been refreshed! Also a dusting of fresh on the driveway this morning (read 3cm).

I see that the Advanced Weather Data at KH has been hit and miss (unlike the skiing which has been all hit). Just started working/reporting again.

8cm reported at Fernie, and since it was snowing in town (as appossed to raining like the last two nights), skiing should be good today.

Looking to head that way next Sunday the 8th, if the snow looks good. Any idea when they might open the new lift?

Not sure about the new lift, one of the ski patrols I talked to said it's ready to go but needs to be inspected which won't happen until January. It might be open but I wouldn't count on it.

Glad some terrain opened worth skiing for you guys at SS.

The highways were a complete shit show today. Line up was gummed up 3kms to make the exit to Louise. Shit bag Alberta douche drivers tail gaiting and cutting each other off like a bunch of selfish fucks, highway closed west of Golden due to an accident, Coquihalla had 1 on the roof then tunnel had a jacknifed semi, and yet another accident apparantley ended in a couple deaths. What is it with these DUMB fucks that have to follow bumper to bumper and drive like fucking twats. For those of you that do *end rant* Ahhh...all better. Some serious coastal nukage on #5.

I want to tell you guys a story about this kid I will call Jack the little ripper.

The past three days here at Kimberley have been powder days, so I've been heading down early in order to catch the first or second chair on the frontside. Also in line each day has been this teenage girl and her 10-year-old brother, Jack. They claim a spot near the front of the line, and about five minutes before the lift opens, one or both of their parents finally arrive and join them.

Now the whole point of getting an early chair at the bottom is so you can bomb down to the Easter chair, and then score first tracks on the good stuff up top.

Unfortunately for little Jack, he weighs maybe 70 pounds, so he always gets passed by a whole bunch of skiers on the way down to Easter and is quite far back in the lineup.

So today Jack and his sister make third chair at the bottom, and when I get off first chair, the people I'm riding with stop to buckle their boots, and the second chair people start looking at a trail map, so Jack sees his chance. He basically tucks it straight for Easter, and is right behind his sister who is a wicked fast skier.

But I can see some adults are quickly gaining on him, so I make some wide turns and politely cut them off a few times, and Jack pulls up to Easter right after his sister, and I join them for first chair.

And the kid is so excited he's bouncing around like a jumping bean. He keeps saying "I've never had first chair on Easter before, never!" He's talking about which run he wants to do to get first tracks, and his sister reminds him that he needs to wait for their Dad, who is on the chair right behind us. (She is 15, so she gets to take off on her own on powder days.)

Then the kids' Dad yells from his chair that he thinks the snow looks better on the frontside, and he wants to head back there, which basically means forgoing all the pow on Easter and taking a groomed traverse all the way back. Little Jack is freaking out, and saying he finally made first chair, and he wants to get first tracks! His sister says that he needs to stay with Dad, but by now Jack is close to tears.

Just as we near the off ramp, Jack's sister turns to him and says "Follow me." They unload and take off down a run, with their Dad yelling for them to stop. They make turns all the way down to the cat track that leads back to Easter, and after telling Jack to wait there, she takes off down to Tamarack to escape her Dad's wrath.

When I came down Easter on my second run, Jack is still standing there on the cat track arguing with his Dad that he didn't want to go back and ski groomers on the frontside. It made me smile, and I thought a few things: Jack has a lame Dad, a pretty cool sister, and that someday that little ripper would make a fine maggot.

Tried Whymper today. Not a lot of snow around there. Changed plans and hit 93 North. It was good today. Faceshots all around and very few people, which is always a good combo.

Interesting day at KH yesterday with one inbounds slide in Fuse and another reported on back side Rudies.
We just started our second lap on CPR when we noticed all the gondies were empty and figured something was up. Within minutes the helicopters were doing laps into Fuse and we counted about 15 trips in total. All the action made us decide to zip over and skin east of Super Bowl where it ended up being the money lines for the day. After our first line off Super bowl we noticed the gondola was running again so we skied down to find out they had closed the resort for 2 hours while they swept the slide areas. No reports of injuries and have not heard much more on the events so can anyone else shed some light?

Four days of first gondy. Thanks Santa. And shadam is back, he just has no internets where he's living. And also has a snowmobile. Making that gondy line seem like hell

^^If I were to ski west I would probably run around putting SOS in the snow and then fuck off from the sign so to ensure no one would find me.

Snow! Just kidding. We've skied some of it before but from much higher.
