Fucking hell... for a couple of weeks snow-forecast was doing pretty well and I thought maybe they would be more accurate than last year, but we're back to hope and a prayer and their models are not working.

Theweathernetwork was calling for 5-10cm / day at Castle for the next 5 or 6 days as of yesterday... and today they're saying almost no snow. Is it just me or do the weather models that have worked OK for that last while are just completely failing starting last year?

Hmm, and they'd actually been doing pretty well so far this season. Looks like its back to sacrificing goats.

Guess nobody could predict that every storm in the western hemisphere would converge over Fernie...

So what's the plan for Friday morning? Do we get to meet at one of those little Ski Schools signs outside the day lodge? Always wanted to do that.

If it's -25 maybe we just go straight to a bar?

    day 1 afternoon: Syncro competition.
day 2 morning: Picture Day! All groups have pictures taken; make sure you don't miss it.
day 2 afternoon: Dress-up/costume day! Anything goes from Dracula to Spider-Man.

Well shit. I wasn't going to spring that until later, but F2F let it out of the bag.

I was thinking of meeting in the lodge, but if Eldo really wants to meet at a ski school sign we can do it! I'm at the hill at the moment and will get the names of the registered and post plans for Friday after work!
Flying the Bluehouse colors in Western Canada! Let me know if you want some rad skis!!

it's the actual program for the tiny tiger freeriders school at ssv, only it's spread across 10 weeks and interspersed with something they call "regular lessons"

Does the vest have a safety whistle? Whistler has little tracking devices attached with velcro to the legs for when students get seperated from their instructor...can I have one of those?

If anyone could take a sec to open this link and vote it'd be much appreciated - it's a shot of some Peyto's/Wildwest faceshot action by highly talented local Banff photographer Dan Evans. Thanks!

Anyone interested in hitting Fernie for a day on Friday? Got the day off and figured and i'd go check it out for a day from Calgary. Gotta be in Banff that evening so looking for someone to split driving duties with back and forth from Calgary. Otherwise its an 8hr driving day for me.

If you do decide to go down make sure the highway is open first:

Lucky bastards in Fernie, talk about the perfect storm, so much fresh dry snow, and the highway is closed to keep all those dam Calgredians out
