Castle was good, but not the epic I was hoping for.

North bowl had light dry powder but it sat in a very firm sun crust, especially on steep South aspects. Drifter and the chutes were heavy and VERY slabby... tough conditions that actually improved they got skied and turned soft crud and wind-effect. Still a good day.

A couple of crappy vids to show you there was some soft snow to be had...

It is kind of ridiculous how like 300' of vert can be that fun. Sounds like your lurking paid off! Untracked in boomerang?

Some people had been in there already but there was lots of untracked room...didn't touch any one elses track as most had dropped in early which left the top cornice alone.

Forgot to mention... while not on the list of reciprocal deals I posted a few pages back, Castle Mountain does offer a reciprocal offer to other mountains pass-holder... I got $12 off by flashing my KH pass.

Did a day in K-Country yesterday. Snow is still thin at higher elevations and lots of wind has scoured the slopes. The storm snow is blower with about 15-20cm and the 40-50cm base is pretty firm underneath making for some good turns without punching thru to rocks and fallen trees.

Glad you guys had fun. I guess it wasn't the worst thing getting stuck at work, only missing a "good but not epic day". Gotta save those sick days for the big days!!

I swear everytime I try to hit castle on a big day, I somehow end up dissappointed...

Was so busy skiing the waist deep at KH today that I forgot to pay for the camp....

Nah I'm full of shit though some epic buckle deep was had in feuz. Still forgot to pay though. Will call it in tomorrow.

Conditions were firm-ish with Feuz being a bit softer. Looks like snow in the forecast over the next week though.

This contest looks to be a little fun: http://www.snowseekers.ca/totalsnowfallcontest

It's offered by Fountain Tire and prizes include 2 season passes to one of the many NW resorts listed and 4 winter tires.

With the snow year we have we won't be able to consistently compare to last years stats. Good luck.
