Can't you just charge everyone who's going now via paypal (I'm happy to pay the extra 3%) and then if someone doesn't show it's not a financial hit? Waiting until that day to drive down to Golden just to find out I'm not participating would really choke me up. And I think we're close enough now that asking for payment is a reasonable thing to do.

Simple solution. If we get 12 then I suggest that we have KH process the CC payments when we phone in this week, not wait until the 20th.

Prepaying is standard for a lot of ski programs, as is no refunds when you pay this close to the actual date.

That way if someone changes their mind, they are welcome to try and find another person to buy their spot, but it doesn't effect things for the rest of the group.

I have no problem paying in full today. (If we confirm 12.) If everyone is okay with this, it solves the problem.

^kind of the same thing I was thinking also. I threw Mex a message on FB to confirm. The end of this week to get payment in should be totally reasonable. Stay tuned for payment info once we get all confirmed.

To be fair, since we hadn't discussed this until today, perhaps everyone who has said they are in should respond now if they are okay with prepaying this week, and no refunds.

Obviously I am okay with that, but I don't want to assume everyone is.

    LOST SHOVEL AT CROWFOOT GLADES

If anyone finds a shovel at crowfoot glades, please let me know. Will pay reward and provide good karma. I left it on the main run about 3/4 of the way down on dec 30.

heads up out there, although it doesn't seem like there is much chance, there are several incidents recently of slides in the trees triggered be skiers and even remotely triggered. a few are detailed on the incident report site. A few friends were able to remote trigger a slide yesterday on the park way and a second got one person in the trees on the way out. Things are moving and releasing to full depth! just saying

Really windy last night and again today and quite warm. Some rain in Banff. I wonder if your friends are the same crew that a friend of mine ran across yesterday... didn't have too many good things to say about terrain choices ie thin weak areas etc. Also made a conscious effort to go around the aspect where they got caught in the section of trees from what I understand. I wasn't there though and of course that's just second hand from one perspective.

    Puking in Jasper...
After a valley temp of plus 7 this morning temps have dropped a few degrees and it is dumping! Who wants to go shred from 9-12 at Marmot tomorrow?....

Oh right I live in the middle of no-where. Weibo you around?

Can't help you with tomorrow, but I plan on being up there either next Tuesday/Wednesday, or the Tues/Wed after that. How's the base doing? Seems like it's pretty good, and snow in the forecast for next week. Would an extra week of snow be a much needed help to the base, or is it already good to go? Would you be able to hook up for some turns any of those days?

Base is good.Regardless of numbers we hit rocks daily. As long as you are ok with that good skiing abounds. We don't need as much as sunshine and if the Lake is skiing well so are we.
I can do tuesday mornings most of the time.
Are you a pro? I'm still better than you.
Have you skied here before? Mind hiking or traverssing?
Name your favorite zone at Lake Louise or any Banff hill. I would love to show people around as I love my little hill. Try to give me as much heads up as possible and I should be able to ski.

Cool. Used to rocks from skiing around here. Definitely not a pro and you probably are better than me, but I would like to think I can hold my own. My wife will be with me, but she can ski too. No pass at SSV this year but we only ever got a pass there for the Dive and Wild West. We put in about 70 days a year at the Lake and like the ERs and Whitehorn the best. Hiking or traversing is totally cool.

Wasn't planning on bringing the AT gear, but we can if it would be of benefit. Only skied 1 day before at Marmot and I really sucked ass then. That's why I am stoked to come up there with you having a good year. From what I can picture of the terrain, there is lots of stuff that was way over my head then, but I would love now.

We should know by Thursday or Friday if it will be next week (17/18) or the week after that. I'll keep you posted.

24-25 works better for me but I should be able to squeak in a few runs on the morn of the 17th.
Our terrain is like a mini Lake Louise with some cool little hikes/traverses that keeps the less talanted away. Great hill and I hope I get a chance to show you around. Are you staying in town overnight? If I can't ski at least I can make sure you make the right dinning / accom choices.

Sure, why not. Where would you like to meet? Or I can pick you up in Banff if you're solo.

    Sounds good.

White smith variant and orange jacket?

I'll be the really tall hairy guy in the blinding orange jacket and black G10mx helmet.
