I'd be up for coffee...just going down to S to pick up a box, thanks for the tip. Coming home right after but pick a time and i'll meet you at wildflower? Leave the skis though...technically "skis out" isn't until tommorrow, i'll get them after.

Nakiska opens on Saturday. Sharpen those skis!

Free for any RCR passholder, but I doubt many Fernie skiers will be making the drive north.

if anyone wants to make gear donations, the banff "everybody gets to ski" program is doing its give away next weekend. Run by Norquay and the caribou group (best of banff) and takes some of the banff ski swap leftovers/donations, and will give it to people in banff that can't afford ski gear. Norquay also working with bestofbanff to give passes to most employes and ALL elementary and high school kids

I'll be helping out with boot fitting again. so if you have gear or time, let me know

Well that makes sense as last night biking home against a head wind I see this big Chinook arch. Ok it was snowing in the mountains.

Need to get fitted and want to meet up to take a look at the remaining skis you got at your place. Just arrived in Canmore last night - no wheels at the moment, but up for some early turns before Monday if anyone is interested.

First post! feeling the JONG already. . .
Just got to Canmore a month ago. Been mostly sport climbing and just decided that it's not worth freezing my fingers off anymore. Is anyone hitting up LL on opening day? Also down to it hit up some BC sooner. I've got a station wagon w/ 4x4.

Wow...i'd fucking loose it if I was getting pounded with those questions after doing nothing more than the job I was paid for. Fuck SSV management.

^Interesting read. Hope things work out. They seem to be asking for reasonable compensation. I thought they would have been suing for more.

T2C-guess that means you would be considered "excitable". I wouldn't have handled question period that well either. There would have been a lot of F-bombs as I was answering that, when written on paper, would make me seem like even more of a dumb-ass than I actually am.

poor representation at the Supervisors' party? firing all patrollers would be too kind.

I've been in a meeting with 2 managers and an HR troll getting ganged on when the problem was elsewhere. I have no problem defending my position if it's in the right. So yes, I guess I can be termed excitable when it comes to head in the ass management types.

The best part is where he stands by his comment of "snot nosed little" some thing or others. Good for him.

I don't know. I can be as "excitable" as the next guy, and have been well known to point out things I think need to be fixed at work, but even I found some of the language and tone used in that email as inappropriate for a work email. Sometimes you just gotta know what to think, and what to actually put down on paper.

Not defending any/all of SSV's actions (especially their handling of it in public media), but I found some of that evidence to put a little different light on things...

Not sure how well you know that hill, but what they are calling 3 runs is really only one run, just with different names at different elevations. It's not like you have 3 different routes to ski. Just an FYI in the decision making process.

That place is the anti stoke...well at least until they are closed for the season and get hit with upslopes... Add how many people are probably going to be there and it's just not worth getting run down by some overzealous control lacker. I heard there are some race leagues going on the weekend also. Wear padding, bring a jousting rod and enjoy the WROD. Maybe i'm just mad cause i'm on the gimp list and can't go?

The same thing can be said about LL when they only have the Wiwaxy 500 open Since I can ski there for free with my Fernie pass, I might just head out for a few turns on Sunday.
