Great shots, T2C! I was sort of over winter, but that as got me amped again.
Speaking of warm weather and rain, awesome thunderstorm going on right now over the Rocky Mountain Trench.
I saw on RCR's site the new superpass has Kicking Horse on it as well and is about $1200. Will there be a better deal than this at all? I do most of my skiing at Fernie and Lake Louise.
Thanks for the heads up that its up now.
Questions... is it worth $240 to ski Louise? or is it worth 143 to be able to ski Fernie and Kimberly ( save money as no HST only GST on RCR Rockies pass compared to KH only)
Yep.
Stunning line, one of my all-time favourite outings.
Look here
Now lets see some of your pics so I can long for the good old days!
hmmm. i was drawing a blank on harrison.sweet line and tr. more pics the better on that one
Would that be only if you have an Alberta address? The online store wants to know your location.
I assume they can do just GST because one of the four resorts, Nakiska, is in Alberta.
So $799 for KH, is that more than the previous years' early bird?
The $989 Rockies pass looks like the way to go for me.
Fuck yeah P.blz...been looking for a tr on that one for a while!
Looks like the RCR Superpass is going to be the tits for me. Can't see an advantage to the Passport now as even throwing in a SSV pass will be very close to the same price as a passport but with way better options.....unless of course they add KH on to the Passport as that just seems to make sense now. Wonder what it will do to pricing though?
Ouch, $2859 plus GST for my pass next year, mmm, gotta think long and hard about that one, thats a lot of ski days to make it worth while.
Anybody know if this is the early bird price, or if they will have one at all?
Man, It was great...
Skied Sunshine today. Pretty fun day, however I was a little disappointed to see so much terrain closed due to spring avalanche danger. Pretty much all the black runs on Goats Eye were closed, as well as all the chutes between Standish and Strawberry (sorry don't know the names and the trail map on Sunshine's website is unreadable). I'm pretty sure all the runs under Teepee Town were closed as well (although Teepee Town was running). Hopefully they'll reopen some of the closures in the next week or so.

I wonder when the rocky mountain super pass info will be released. I want the $1230 option plus SSV and Norquay
Clearly the only option is to ski more...win win.gotta think long and hard about that one, thats a lot of ski days to make it worth while
Supposed to rain more tommorrow. Once the temps come down stuff should tighten up.Hopefully they'll reopen some of the closures in the next week or so.
Sorry for late response and lack of photos on harrison. Tr to come, im currently workin in water valley with limited internet.
So it looks like I'll be at Marmot on the weekend. Do they have reciprocals with KH? If not, any decent way to get cheaper tickets? Any really shitty areas to avoid, areas that will be good?
Last year was $612 + HST for residents on the Super Early Bird (bought before the previous season (10/11) ended). Not sure if they're offering the Spirit Pass this year. My wife's office had a couple last year and they were great! $2000 included a fully transferable pass (summer and winter at KH) and a $800.80 charitable donation receipt. It was great for any visitors as we had passes for them and the non charitable part could be written off as a business expense.
I haven't heard anything regarding vip parking at Kicking Horse, let's hope that they don't decide that it's a good idea to implement this.
the Alberta and BC early bird was about $40 more than local. Now that I could get local rate , there is no local rate.
I will check on do you have to pay HST for Rockies pass but I don't think you do.
I thought BC voted to eliminate the HST as of 1 July 2012 (ie go back to GST + PST)?
The Rocky Mtn Superpass was (is?) administered by Ski Big 3 so it might take them longer to get prices etc organised...
Was raining on hill today. Brought me back to my roots when I was learning at Cypress Bowl in Vancouver lol.
I figured that was the case. Just part of the warm, comforting embrace of B.C. socialism.
However I have already found plenty of ridiculous benefits to take advantage of as a lesser-income resident. Can you believe that below a certain income level you can apply to receive free oil changes and blow jobs? Hopefully not at the same place.![]()
At least it should be well lubed if it is at the same place...
Unfortunately as a province we voted down the HST, fucking idiots. Anyways, looks like they'll have it out by Feb 2013 and back a GST/PST system that has been modified to be very similar to the HST.....go figure. The province is stalling while looking for the $1.6 billion that Ottawa gave them to adopt the HST and now Ottawa wants it back. Although they (MLA's) just got a 29% raise not too long ago. WTF?!?!?!
As for Mtn. Shadows, Rockabout was good except for one muddy section which is usually dry and pungy all season. It has been raining a fair bit in Golden and it has been falling as that even on the ski hill. Think Gnarbage crust.
