The skiing is secondary and its a recon mission (as usual).
You do a lot of looking?

    _____

Does anyone need any tents? I have 2 that I would like to part with for $300 total for both...a quiver of tents. This is a good deal and gets you 2 tents. One is the North Face Spectrum 33 in near mint condition. It has been used less than 5 times. It is a 3 person tent although realistically it sleeps 2 comfortably. It is only 4lbs. Totally clean barely used and well cared for. Single wall.

Included in this deal is a TNF Nebula 2 person tent. It is a 3 and 4 season convertible tent. Totally bomb proof mountaineering tent. 2 vestibules, 2 full doors on either side. Double wall. For a 2 person tent there is tons of room for 2 + gear. Very comfy and weather tight. 8lbs.

The Spectrum retailed for $330ish and the Nebula was over $600. Both go together and compliment each other for year round use.

Not going lower than $300 for both tents.

...for the tents if I were selling individually the prices would be $250 and $140. Therefore the 300 is bottom line.

Figured it was pretty obvious so I changed it....tongue in cheek. Dave was saying the second one in to the shaft is (was) 30ish from some one that had skied it. Wanna buy a tent quiver?

I have not skied it obviously, however one hazard that you may or may not be aware of from an ice climbers perspective is the first drop has an ice flow. Knowing this, as you approach the edge you would have to be very aware of the interface where there is barely enough snow over top of the ice and another possibility would be some thing called lens over, which is an "onion skin" of hollow ice over top of snow / slush that can break off like a slab...almost watched an ice climber kill himself when it slabbed off with him riding it over the edge. With that said it's probably not as much an issue with skis on and gliding due to wieght distribution? Not saying this is the case with that line...just saying it's a potential hazard that might not otherwise be accounted for. The rotten interface on top of ice flows is not at all uncommon IME....I was taught to always drive in a screw before topping out because of this.

Phht...1 tent is not a quiver. What are you going to do in the summer for a fast and light mission? Use you're 4 season tent? Clearly you need more tents!

actually on that note. Any one have any recommendations for some overnight trips for lets say beginner campers advanced skiers? not scared to drive either. No crevasse rescue.

Sorry to be more clear. More of a basecamp trip. Also stuff to jump off of a bonus.

On a serious note though typically 4 season tents should say better suited to winter. Typically a lot of 4 season tents are fucking cook boxes for summer use unless using them up high in mountaineering country. 4 season is a marketing term for winter tent that you can use all year.

I do tonnes of looking. Extreme-looking
We all know that avalanches are not a natural phenomenon. Avalanches are merely the mountains giving in and allowing passage to the Shredder after his intimidating glare sets the snow free of weakness in which might suprise him. So it has been written.

Guess Ill come back when I've got either A) go pro footage of me shredding or B) my CSIA level III certificate.

(they cost about the same I believe...)

Edit: The extreme-looking makes me feel pretty hardcore but either A or B above would be better.

So, it nuked all day at KH, each run deeper than the last. The fresh is moving really easy on the old stuff, was a bit surprised a couple times at how much is moving. 25cm in just over the last 12 hrs. Snowing all the way down to town, somehow. Tomorrow is gonna suck.
