    Finger on the Button (SR)

I am about to commit to a priceline.com SLC flight leaving this Weds 5th with return to VT. on the 10th. If I’m not able to ski out there until Thursday 6th, will I have missed the show? Sounds like a lot of wind hold and traffic problems so far… is there another storm coming? Will this latest storm be all tracked out by the time I get there? Will anyone grace me with their maggotism if I’m there? SHOULD I PUSH THE FRKN BUTTON?

Seriously would you guys out there come to this storm so late knowing what you know?
No doubt, if I leave here, VT. will get hammered…. I can hear all you easterners…. PUSH THE FUKN BUTTON TRAIN!

I've got @40 minutes to lock in a somewhat decent price.

Clear up your travel dates and I can give you an answer on the snow; would you would be here in SLC from the 5th to the 10th, then back to VT on the 11th? Or not get here until the 11th? I'm not clear on the dates. I've got the answer to your snow question right here in front of me...

Heck, I'd like both forecasts... the NWS is predicting some chance of snow every day of the 10 day forecast... can you do better?

Tuesday 1/4/05 into Wednesday 1/5/05 is going to be another dump, 1' to 2' in the Wasatch under a strong SW flow...we get a quick break on Thursday...then a series of storms moves into Utah from the NW (eg, fluffy powder, not cement) for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Tuesday storm is totally on track, but as I told a few others in PMs, I'm not totally 100% sold on the weekend storms yet; if they come together, it's going to be big, and I think they will, but there's some disagreement among the longer range models...we need a high pressure system to set up out in the Gulf of Alaska for this to happen...most of the models suggest that it will...

Hope that helps! Also bases are up to 100"+ so the coverage is great...

Thank you Red Guy so very much...button is being pushed...many loose ends to take care of...going solo so far....will need help once there...will be on line tomorrow....soooo excited.

Actually gonna look for some help right now...I'll probably stick with priceline.com in searching for a room....anybody want to offer names of motels or other I should look for...may not stay with priceline or whatever...how about the canyon road problem...I've heard of people going out there only to have the road closed....anything available up higher....would love to do Kirkwood, Alpine, Alta, Bird.....too excited...need to book flight and get some sleep....

I'd like to say this is the last thing we need, wind cold and no snow = no fun, sorry I'm a selfish bastard

Anybody know anything about this Baymont Inn and Suites in West Valley City? Priceline is offering a very reasonable package deal ($507.00) flight and room for five nights....Would this be a suck ass location? I don't even have a map out yet.

West Valley is a long ways from LCC/BCC, relatively speaking. I'd look for something in Sandy - I think generally people on here recommend the Embassy Suites or the Super 8. You might do a search for "utah mini" and check out those threads for recommendations on housing. You could also look for a dorm-type room up at the Goldminer's Daughter or another one of the hotels up at Alta, but I think those are generally a little pricier.

If this hotel is located near the E-Center you can be to any of the Cottonwood resorts in no time. I-215 runs right by the E-center, you should be close to an exit and within 20 minutes to the mouth of the big. Sure, you can be there a few minutes quicker by staying in Sandy, but if price is the issue stay in West Valley.
