    FS: Tua Titan, Rare

I'm parting with the last of the Tua line. I have a 178cm Tua Titan for sale, they only made the 178cm. It was mounted once for the 03-04 ski reviews and hasn't been used since. It has the final Tua graphic topsheet. It has been used so it has the normal top sheet nics and scratches. I think it was one of about five made with the Titan topsheet. I'm am looking for $300. They are probably the biggest loss from Tua going under. If by any chance someone out there has a pair of 193 AK NoKaOi I would be interested in a trade. Send me a PM with your email and number and I will contact you. Thanks

Here is the review from Coulior

    Telemark Test:
    Titan
    112/80/100 · 163, 170, 178, 185, 192 · $575
Basically last year's all-performance, all-mountain Cross-Ride 112 but now built with metal, the Titan is like a favorite ski buddy that spent the summer in the weight room. As round flexing as ever, with that same sidecut that lets it make intuitively sweet and predictable GS turns, the Titan also has a muscular new ability to bust nose first through difficult Off-piste conditions. Like never before, the new Titan is a Tua that can muscle through anything. It's also damper than the old 112, with a quiet, close-to-the-snow feeling of contact in groom and mixed snow conditions. Bulging at the brink of the Piste/Off-piste category, the Titan provides a big beefy 80mm of platform and stability in mank and crud where you need it most, and now is more able to load the tail when you really want to start accelerating. This is a distinctively more aggressive ski than the 112, built for going after big turns with a big rebound. Once on edge, it has great hold while carving. It's the kind of confidence you want in the backcountry for charging big lines, but is too damp and not lively enough for anyone who doesn't like metal in their skis. Tip to tail: Powerful finesse, part of a bold new ploy by Tua to take tele in aggressive new directions.

    AT Test:

    Titan
    Profile: 112/80/100 Lengths: 163, 170, 178, 185, 192 $575
Tua's classic, long-touring 112 returns this year with new metal inserts that allow it to deliver a damper, more steerable GS-style turn. Still light and pliant enough for week-long tours, or just yo-yo hikes off the road or the chair, what's really different about the Titan is better edge hold and a quieter, more predictable on-the-snow feel from turn to turn. The ski was at its best linking rhythmic medium radius turns in the corn, the upper chutes and in the trees with a patient swingweight you could feel tensing and releasing, while the tail was easy to load in all conditions. Aimed more for experts in the tele category, as an AT ski the Titan is also good for intermediates and tour hounds because of its smooth, intuitive turn initiation. The ski can be easily handled at slower speeds, where it's quick to roll and hold on edge without a lot of downweighting. And if you like a confidence-building, close-to-the-snow feel in-bounds, there's no reason why this ski shouldn't see a few days on the chair each season. For most AT skiers though, we thought this would be best for people who want a big quiet ride for out-of-bounds. It's too damp for some. Tip to tail: A confidently mellow feel.
