So here is my initial review. This is with three days total in pretty much everything that you could think of for conditions. Took a day to get used to the more center mount of the ski so I got chucked around a bit but that was all pilot error. Just to let you know I am about 155lbs and 5'8" and have been skiing 180 Big Stix 8.6's and 183 Axioms lately.
DAy 1: 12cms (5") on a refrozen rain messed ski area. Skied as you would expect in fresh snow smooth and responsive. Held surprisingly well to the frozen groomed and handled the ice bumps and chunks underneath ok. These were the sharpest skis I have ever recieved from any manufacturer so that may have helped.
DAy 2: Crud and groomers. Skied much better than I would have thought on the groomed. Longer radius turns held like a dream, shorter radius pretty easy I think because of the more center mount just pivot away. Busted crud very welll the soft tip comes up and the rest of the ski crushes everything else.
DAy 3: Just got back. They ski wind slab very well. Hiked for fresh and that was what I was rewarded with. Skis really come around and when you stand on the edge the hold is quite positive. With the hike I was amazed how light the set up is (demo 900's) actually lighter than my 8.6's. I really think this would make an excellent touring ski for anyone. I would recommend these to almost anyone. The obvious being anyone who can't ski at least a 180 and anyone who weighs 300lbs.
I will continue to update as I get more days this week, hopefully a huge storm will come through and I can tell you how they handle the super deep.
People were definatly noticing them today aswell, I got into a good conversation with an attractive girl on the lift today solely because of these. So that is one more bonus.
If anyone is in Jasper I have ademo track on these so give me a shout and I will see if they are available.
