Packing up the RV & heading to LA for New Years...Help...

4 friends and I have rented an RV for the weekend. Leaving SF @ 1 on Friday and heading to LA. This is another example of acting before thinking. We thought that it would be fun to hunker down in the RV park on Saturday in Pasadena and try to out-tailgate the Rural Americans (PC for Rednecks) from Texas.

Looking for something fun to do for New Years. Ideally it would be in the Pasadena area, but I'm not married to it. If anyone knows of fun places where 5 average gringos could enjoy themselves on New Years and possibly coerce chicks back to the trailor for a late night DP (dance party), I would really appreciate the help.

*Disclaimer: I don't own a piece of clothing that would get me into an LA club, so that's out.

**I may or may not be wearing my Britney Spears 2000 World Tour T-shirt, which might be another wardrobe roadblock.

    Gracias

Ahhh the Rose Parade. My favorite excuse to sleep in and miss all the flowery fun.

Good luck finding a parking spot. If they're not gone already, they're going fast.

As for nightlife, you actually have some great options. Just head to Old Town Pasadena. It's the area of Colorado Blvd. between Arroyo Parkway and the 710 Freeway. There are a ton of bars there. I can't really recommend one over the other. My favorite closed a couple years ago, so I can't recommend that. Lucky Baldwin's is a good drinking spot. For extra cirriculars, you'll probably be better off at one of the "hipper" (if you can call them that) bars though. I will warn you, it's gonna be crowded in Old Town. But chock full o ladies. It's only 3-4 blocks long. So it's easy to walk around and scope everything out. There are lots of restaurants there too.

If you need any more Pasadena help. Just ask. I spent the first 18 years of my life there, and go back often to visit family.

My Mom and Dad had great things to say about you after spending Christmas with you. Thanks for not throwing me under the bus this time

    Arty:

Thanks, that is a big help. Ran across a place called Freddie's 35er bar. Any thoughts? Sounds a little bit like a frat party. Could be spicy.

KS: Was really nice to catch up with your folks. Haven't seen them in 2 years. As for the bus comment...maybe I did and you just haven't felt the backlash yet...

Powder clause is always in effect. Skis are coming for Mammy on Sunday. Could be a Tahoe New Years depending on accumulation.

If the rain lets up, you might cruise Venice Beach. Not as good as durring the summer, but there are still people milling about when the weather's decent.

Are you currently in town? I'm around for a couple more days or so. I actually scored a date for tomorrow night and, so, am gonna hang around until Friday, I think. I may be willing to venture east.

Whatever you do, don't be stupid like I was in '99 and get busted for drinking in public on the Parade route. Got fucking locked up and taken down to LA County on the Grey Goose by the Sherrifs Department. They didn't fuck around.

    P. S. You go the long way and stop in Mammoth tomorrow
