Pryamid Outburst - best taste per alcohol ratio for a reasonable price
    Alaskan Amber - longtime favorite/classic

No real go to beer, but lately I keep Newcastle in the frig.

Closest thing maybe Coors Light in bottles, at least it is what we drink after a long ride. Basically beer flavored water. I hardly call it beer.

The goods news is you can always find something decent, even in a twelve dog town, so there is no reason to drink crap beer like Bud, Miller, PBR, or Coors, budget excepted.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

New Belgium Ranger IPA, alternate with Red Hook Long Hammer IPA, or Big Sky IPA.

Occasionally I'll take a break from IPA's and go for some ice cold Heinekens, especially after a long, hot bike ride.

NBC is my favorite Canadian beer by a long way. In Australia its Coopers, Sparking or Extra Stout.
Occasionally the Coopers Sparkling can be found in BC, has a wanky kangaroo & French label here but its cheaper than in Australia!!!
I've been scared off of Begbie after living in Golden for a couple of winters and it was always on special at the Taps. Always skunky and I expected the shits the next morning to come to life... Haven't given it a fair shot since, might have to give the IPA a chance.

I've had one or 2 skunky pints at the Taps also.... but I'm a sucker for beer on tap, seems 'special' after drinking bottled beer at home all the time.

Dirty keg lines that are never cleaned quickly ruin the nicest of beers.

    1. Odells IPA - Could be the perfect IPA, if not the perfect beer.
    2. Odells Myrcenery - IPA on steroids. Like the Hashish of Hops.
    3. Odells Cutthroat Porter - I thought they had really perfected this beer on the first try, then I had one at the brewery on tap with Nitrogen. Holy Shit that was smooooooove.
    4. Odells 90 Schilling - The original. By the third one it starts tasting like apple juice. If I was stuck with one beer for the rest of my life, I would be inclined toward 90.

edit to clarify - now that I'm in NC, there is no Odells. I'm constantly surprised by how many micro brews are available here, and scratching my head that I haven't found one that I can really fall for. My current go-to is Ranger. It's decent, familiar and for whatever reason usually sells cheaper than the other micros at my local grocery store.

It's pretty good. Drink a 22 oz bottle and you can definitely feel it.

Newcastle brown ale if I feel like spending

PBR if I'm broke as a joke

IPAs are some of my favorites for their get you drunk factor but newcastle just hits the spot that no other beer can

Magic Hat - preferrable 'Circus Boy', but 'No. 9' is pretty solid. Yes, this is a go-to beer...life's too short to drink shitty beer!
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

I don't think the Taps clean their lines often or properly or something, as I've had the same experience with most of the beers they serve.

Goto the Trapper, or better yet the Idiot in Revy. The same beers taste much better, and will give you a better shot at tasting the actual beer instead of line scuzz. I used to hang at the Taps, but then I tried elsewhere and same the beer was much better. All IMHO of course.

Tall Timber is an awesome brew, as is most of the other Begbie stuff.
