    My first surf TR

So last night I borrowed a board and a "dry" suit and rolled out the the beach in Yakutat... I caught 1 and a half waves and didn't even attempt to stand up... Maybe next time... Took a few pictures

    The beginner Break

    on the water

I'm hoping this surfing thing comes together this summer...

Its not that I suck at spelling, its that I just don't care

    haha you're doing it.

If you've started and you like it, you'll keep at it and keep at it until you get better. It gets more fun when you get better. Congratulations for getting it together to be this far, clearly the hardest part is getting past the shock of how hard it is initially.

Would love to hit that area for a surf/fish trip. Keep at it, gets faaaaaaar more fun
Be careful about buying snowboard goggles for skiing. Snowboard goggles come in right eye and left eye (for goofy-footers) dominant models. This can make it hard to see correctly when skiing because you are facing straight down the hill, not sideways.

That place looks so cool and remote. Unique experience that not many other surfers will ever have, keep it up.

That's a pretty wet looking dry-suit !! But I should talk, I used a heavy-duty Viking rubber commercial diving dry-suit for surfing the Homer break....that thing was bulky as hell, but I was warm. A friend of mine used a neoprene survival suit (the orange 'Gumby' suit) to surf outside of Dutch Harbor and he actually was able to get up in the damn thing...but he was an ace cali surfer.

Looks like in the last picture you were actually getting close to a good pop-up...if the wave was a little longer, you probably would have that time.

    Practice, practice, practice....!!!!

Once you stand-up on your first wave, it's a rush you won't forget!!!
