No they did not. It is only one lawyer actually, we do not have a huge team. We are in the process of responding to their cease and desist. It is moving, but slowly.

Well, that makes one mountain I will NEVER ski at (unless there is regime change). I encourage others to do the same.

I thought after a first Cease and Desist order you can continue to ignore it for a while. Especially if their lawfirm's email domain accidently winds up in the spam filter and all your mail gets lost and your telephone gets, um, lost.
    No longer stuck.

And spread the word to get others to not go there. My blog now has links to this thread, powdork's page and a newspaper article. I figure interested parties could find more info on the net as they need. Raise the awareness. Sunshine fights in the gutter.

Doesn't TGR have a team of trained seals they can chopper in at a moments notice?

No point anyway, if they can't safely keep the steeps open which, "in my opinion" they can't, having fired most of the experience on their snow safety team.

There is the principle - that if you cave on this one, you'll be more likely to cave in the future - but in this case I think you harm them (or they harm themselves) more by doing as they asked. Who really cares if you reinstate that thread now? Sunshine has completely screwed itself in the Internet court of public opinion. It amazes me how thoroughly people still fail to understand online communities.

    Wow... just, wow.

I am supposed to go to a memorial ski for an acquaintance at Sunshine on the 14th of May. I already didn't want to give them any of my money but thought a memorial was a justifiable deviation from my principles, but not any more.

I no longer have touring boots, but I think I might tour up on my heavy skis with dukes and tight-fitting alpine boots just to ski the 1 run of the memorial and then ski back down to the car. Fuck you Sunshine, and you can have my money when you pry it from my cold dead hands.

It's people like this that really make me hate humanity, at times.

Any ideas on something offensive I can do to them when I get up there? Something that will not negatively affect the remaining patrollers?

No doubt. It's not like this new thread has been censored or anything. If/when they tell you to take it down, you do and then we start another one just like it. In the world of public relations, if you don't want something to become a big issue, then don't make it one.

Thanks mntlion... I do fit a 25 but a buddy of mine offered me his last free day on his Sunshine Card, so I'm going to go that route.

Sure, maybe if all the tgr forum posters pooled all their incomes together, I bet collectively we could raise at least like $80, you know what with ski bums having so much disposable incomes and all. btw, saw your gimp thread, good luck with rehab.
