    Question Bachelor For New Years

Any Mags gonna be in Bachelor/Bend for New Years?

Any Mags been at Bachelor/Bend for New Years in years past?

Some friends, my wife, and I are heading to Bachelor next week and we will be staying there through the New Year; and I was hoping I could get some info on where to eat/drink/party etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you... in advance!

I vow to remain a bachelor for New Year's.

Especially if we're partying in Aspen with models on ecstasy.

We my mad grey goose and tonic steeze there is no way I'd stay a bachelor in Aspen. I'd fight it but it would be futile.

Bend should be rock'n for New Years. Cascade Brew, Deschutes Pub, Inn of the 7th Mt., Riverhouse, ect. and a number of bars downtown. Lots of cops out too. Usually 1 or 2 of the resorts ski all night but it ain't look'n too good this year. Just stay out of Prineville, ok. Bachy has good coverage for a meager 48" base. Some snow is forecasted for X-mas. Crowds aren't too bad at the hill from what Bdog at the repair shop says. I'll be up there pull'n some G's the 27th and 28th. Have fun.

    Fubar -

I'll be here over New Years and would be glad to meet up for some turns during your stay....don't know how well you know the mtn. As for New Years night, I've already got plans, but the Bend Bulletin online might have a listing of events for the evening. The bars should be hopping for sure.

If you're looking for fancier restaurants, I can recommend some:
    Merenda - san francisco/mediterranean
    Blacksmith - cowboy chic homestyle
Cork - intimate, best restaurant in town, upscale fancy
Blue Fish - new place, nice menu, do all things well
Toomies - Thai, very good and satisfying
Mercury Diner - on west side, a good yuppie style diner
Indian Palace - Cletus lunch buffet special

If you want casual pub grub, I can do that too:
Deschutes Brewery - the original and still the best
Bend Brewing Company - can be hit or miss, but chill hang-out
Cascade Lakes - newest brewpub, so so menu

If you want to know the steezy hang-outs, i've been to a few:
The Grove - Bend meets LA, lots of DJ's spinning, young alt crowd, not meatheads, fun after 11
Astro Lounge - good place for cocktails upstairs
Martini Bar - Bend meets SF, guy makes his own vodka, good stuff
McMinimans - has a couple different bars on premisis - all good, dark, and a lil' smoky...just right for knocking back a beer or scotch

there are some other fun things to do in town - taking a tour of Deschutes Brewery on the weekend (with tasting!), checking out Smith Rock, snowmobile rides...

PM me if you have specific questions, let's meet up!

TAP- FKNA, Right On!!!! Thanks for the great info!

Hey, we can definitely hook up! Wasn't it you who Gregbo hooked up with last year?

We will be doing 3 days of riding/boarding (30th-1st)...as I will be accompanied by an assorment of skiers and snowboarders, and we would love to make some turns with you.

As for knowing the Mtn, ahhhh that would be a negative. I have not skied there since '90.

I will definitely PM you with more details. Do you carry a radio?

    Thanks again!!!

    Really?!
    Tip Top Tap Casa?

If you want casual pub grub, I can do that too:

Deschutes Brewery - the original and still the best ?? Ya if you're into just being seen!

Bend Brewing Company - can be hit or miss, but chill hang-out. Mostly missing the gapers! Plus WAY better food than Deschutes.

Cascade Lakes - newest brewpub, so so menu. Ya gaper hang out! py food. Ok beer.

snowmobile rides... What? You bought a sled Tap?? Otherwise you're looking at like $100/day rental, is what I say to that! QUOTE]
