On a cold day (or what locals call normal winter) here in Banff lots of folk do....the trick I'm told is to get the underneath layers right so you don't sweat and then freeze...if you are just downhilling it's not much of an issue but if you start hiking, even short pitches to access stuff it can be a problem....Pit zips will solve that problem though.

I once skied -27. The real prob is not your body but face (mask and some skin protection required), feet (use right socks, but that'll not help anyway) and boots (they can fall apart in real low temp).
