Griffin EarJams (for iPod)

I've always been a tad disappointed with the bass performance of my iPod headphones, and these looked like they would help.
Before I start this, I'd like to point out that I've used these on a First Gen iPod; when I bought them I hadn't read the whole of the linked page. However, once I'd spent my hard earned cash, I thought I might aswell try.
They did clip on nicely with the First Gen headphones, so I thought it'd be worth the review...
Bascially, they do what they say on the tin. The bass was noticeably better, it was deep, and mostly appropriately so. When using a Flat EQ, they were a bit TOO bassy, making the songs duller - but with the Treble Booster EQ, they work pretty damned well on the songs I was hoping to improve the bass performance of (my iTunes "bassy" playlist
), and pretty well with songs that I didn't feel need any more bass.
However, high vocals are noticeably dulled, and the EarJams can resonate at suprisingly low frequencies, which at first feels odd
The 'in-ear' nature of headphones really does trap out noise - I tested them while watching tele, and I couldn't hear it at all once they were in. With the small earbuds, I also found them very comfortable.
In all, I'm very happy with the extra depth they've bought to my songs, but for the price I can't help but feel they don't give as good a performance as could be expected, especially in realtion to dulling certain songs. This is probably not a product for most listeners, but only for those who are really looking to increase the bass of their songs, not for those who just want a bit extra.
