How goes it TGR,
First post, long time lurker. Anyway, I have recently been hired to find mature qualified waterskiers(slalom), wakeboarders, trick skiers, ski jumpers, wakeskaters, wakesurfers, to spend this summer teaching watersports at preimere summer camps.
Bennies' include but not limited to:
Access to tournament ski boats (Mastercraft, Malibu, Natique, Tige, etc.)
Free room and board (you won't get rich doing this, but tons of chances to save money with no rent and free food.)
Tons of personal riding time without paying for gas. ( you actually get paid, great for summer training if you are competing.)
Meet new people from all over the country and rest of the world.
Paid Training. (get paid to become a certified instuctor)
Rewarding experience living the camp life and teaching children how to become great skiers and wakeboarders.
Qualified applicants should be
-19 yrs or completed first year of college/university
-Strong background in watersports and boat driving (no need to be pro, but should be comfortable with teaching begginner through advanced skiers, with proper training)
-Mature. Safety is number one when working with kids. This is a fun job, but a serious and full time one at the same time. Not everyone is fit for camp life, and ski staff duties.
-Lifeguard and cpr/first aid is a plus, most camps will pay to train for this as well.
-Willing to relocate for the summer. (the company i am working with is hired but tons of the best summer camps in the country, and I cannot at this time tell you where you might be placed, it will depend on skills, experience, and current need for your level of instruction. A lot of camps are located in New England (ME, VT, CT, NH, NY, MA), but there are also many camps in the midwest, south and west coast that are currently looking for staff. Most camps will pay for travel expenses.
If this intrests you feel free to email me or reply to this post. my name is Paul
my email is vegaskistaff@hotmail.com
I have been teaching skiing and wakeboarding at camps for over 7 summers, and wouldn't trade it for anything. I can answer questions about camp life in general, and the different levels of skiing offered at different camps. I can not tell you exactly which camps you might be placed at until you fill out further applications.
Feel free to contact me about anything
