Didn't see a recent post on the topic. Is it worth the drive for a day? My sister and her husband came here for skiing but um, we have a slight snow problem... I don't want to drive to Whistler for crappy conditions though.

Its not good, worst early season I have seen in the past 8 years. Rain to the top then freezing cold temps makes for some shitty conditions. Forecast this week is sun, no snow in the forecast. The Blackcomb ski out is almost gone.
Lots of USC and UCLA girls getting wasted at the local bars though.

Agreed and seconded. Saturday was okay up on the Peak- skied more like spring conditions- then today the freezing level fell. I only made a couple of runs and called it. Longest skating rink I've seen - pretty much the entire face of Blackcomb, save a few pockets off 7th Heaven where the wind blew a 'little' dust on crust.

Yeah, Whistler fucking sucks right now for skiing. Im not going back there untill it actually starts to snow. The bar scene aint bad since it is now tourist / gaper season, however its also ridiculasly expensive durring peak season.

Yeah... sunday was mind blowingly bad. Melt, rain, freeze makes for some gross conditions. I was on the Whistler side and it was no better. Big mountain of blue ice...Longest skating rink I've seen
