    as a bit more info on demos and the trip:

    -there is only one set of demo skis currently available. As of 1 week from now, It will be tied up for the next 2 months for magazine tests/buyer's guides. There are no demo skis beyond those at the moment, so we are holding things off on demos until late spring and summer, where we plan to do a lot demoing in conjunction with having skis in stock. I personally don't have any current skis myself besides having skied and tested everything that is slated for the magazine group. The 2 skis that I am taking on the trip are protos from this summer. If there were more demos available at the moment, we would certainly be running them.

    Wow Stephan, as Splat said, we at PMG can completely sympathize with the trials and tribulations you've had to endure this year. Best of luck to you and your partners. Keep the passion and hard work running high (sounds like that shouldn't be a problem for you) and keep believing. All the best.

    Your replys are much appreciated. I think you are dealing with a group of customers who have it in them to forgive and forget more than the average skishopper. We (at least some of us) understand that it takes a lot to create skis like you do. And I am also among those who have great faith in the product. So I am in there for the long haul (hopefully not so long haul that is ). I am not cancelling my order now, that is!

    That being said, there is particularly one issue in the explanations above I find a bit bewildering. Mikey talked about 40 something skis sent from China that should be DB's, but actually were Goodes. Is this correct? If it is correct, it seems as if you have some control problems with the guys in China. It is a bit worrying for me that there are someone over in China producing whatever he/she feels like that day and sending it to you afterwards. I wonder if you are doing something to get the guys over in China to get their act together?

    Also it would be great to get a "progress report" of some kind. Something like; "This season we have had XX skis on order (x R's, y Surreals and z TR's). To date we have produced YY skis (v R's t Surreals and u TR's). Your skis are number Y in line to be produced." Would you be willing to share that kind of info?

    Best wishes

    Bernt Brun (alias KANUTTEN)

    I would second that. I've been told what number TR order I am, but it means little without knowing what else has been/has to be produced.

    Stephan and Mikey,
    Thanks for all the straight up info and specifics. I also suspect your customers are not the average ski shoppers. More forgiving, plus anyone who knows even a little about startups, knows that production issues and engineering is always a problem in the first few years.

    I have complete faith in your product, I especially like your passion and belief in the db community and culture , and will be right there in line next fall to pony up the cash for your boards, granted a demo of them goes well. I can only imagine it will.

    Thanks again for putting in more time to communicate with all of us here. We're dreaming right along with you.

    Guys, thanks for all your encouraging words. As Stephan said, this season has so far been a big dissapointment for us all. That said, skis continue to trickle through and we're hopefull of having everything sorted, and a stockpile of skis to kick off next season with.

    For those of you that have placed orders and are sticking it out, thanks again - your patience will be rewarded with some killer boards, that i promise. There'll be a new communication along the lines of Stephan's posting going out this week, to update those that don't frequent this board.

    In response to Kanutten's + other's request to know where they fall in the order list, i suggest emailing administration@dbskis.com - although i'm not sure as to how available this info is.

    All the best,

    Mike

    Ok, I'll send an email to Roman regarding the progress.

    What about the china situation, are you doing something in particular to sort the situation out? Or are you sort of going for plan B, where more DB boards are produced out of Michigan? If it is true that Goode got a lot of skis that were supposed to be DB's, then it would make sense if DB got an increased share of the Michigan production capacity.

    But then again what do I know about molds and so forth. I guess I am just interested in what sort of action is taken in order to sort things out.

    Has anyone had any more news? Or seen any skis?

    >Has anyone had any more news? Or seen any skis?

    Received my Surreal (185cm soft) early January. A few days after getting hand in a cast from accidentially skiing off a cliff into trees at Solitude. Mounted tele with HH and have skiied a dozen days but haven't found more than calf deep what with work and recent Colo drought. Wished I'd had New Years day at the bird.

    Great ski. Can't say enough positive things. Even the "soft" version is stiff for tele. Incredible at high speed. But I'd trade a bit of speed performance for somewhat softer tip for slow speed in trees. Posted a few other comments on telemarktips.com.

    Bottomline. Well worth the wait and the $.

    All the symptoms of a long anxious wait about Tabla Rasa order: (since Nov 22)

    Crying all night;
    Red eyes and very wet;
    Not skiing pow anymore;
    Feeling depressed looking at the door (unfortunetely no FedEx);
    Staying bed all day;
    Wanting no more snow: what for?

    No I don't see DB Tab in a near future and Spring is almost there.
    Good Irish day folks

    this is fucking nuts. have you guys shipped ANY tablas this season? not to be a dick, and thanks for the updates etc (you guys have also been super responsive to emails), but it sucks to see pat and the pmgear team getting crapped on in other threads about not shippping, being one of the lucky ones to have gotten a pair (granted, i was also one of the first to pay, and helped them test them - so no hard feelings here hopefully) and LOVING how they've been skiing - im beginning to wonder why im on this bandwagon. most of it is attributed to statements made here by people who ski for other companies about how much your boards kill it. its too bad your manufacturing doesnt kill it as well. at this point, im not cancelling because i want one of the collectors items these are going to become when you've exhausted all of the good buzz and support you've had coming your way. you guys are seemingly successful in spite of yourselves. tell stephan to get off his snowmobile and start breaking some kneecaps (other peoples - not his). we want our skis!

    recommendation from someone who manages a large customer/constituent base on a daily basis (and knows that cyrille knows how this works): its time to start calling people out, and time to start posting daily updates on your site. who is fucking this up? its almost APRIL.

    EDIT: and another thing - you're "sold out" for 04/05? www.dbskis.com ... nice one guys.
