selling some wetsuits (grom size and a small tall)

i've got some old wetsuits that have just been chilling in my closet for years that would be better off getting some use with someone's kid who needs one. i've got a size 14 body glove 3/2 fullsuit and a small tall xcel infiniti 4/3. both are a few years old, but have been in storage in the back of my closet when not in use. the xcel hasn't seen much use at all as i got it near the end of high school and then moved to vermont for college. unfortunately i've gotten too fat for it over the years. it's a really nice suit that ran me around $275 when i bought it.

at this point, since they've both just been collecting dust i'm open to offers on the suits. i'm hoping to get some cash to at least partially fund a new wetsuit so i can get back out on my board that has also been collecting dust these past few years. so if you or anyone you know is looking for a cheap wetsuit for their kid, then shoot me a pm.

yeah, i think that's going to be my next move closer to the summer. just wanted to see if any mags could make use of them first. might just donate the body glove suit as i doubt it's worth that much anyway at this point as it is around 9 years old now, just hasn't seen any use or the light of day in the past 6.

my guess is that i would be a medium tall? i'm 6' 0" ~150 lbs, so whatever generally fits a person of that size i guess.

Also willing to sell my 6' Surftech Fish for cheap. Has a tiny ding right at the tip of the nose, but is in great shape otherwise. It's seen much more time in my bedroom than it has on the water.

Still have the suits? My son is around 5'3" - 5"4" and 115 - 120. Don't know the specs of a small/tall but would be interested in the Excel if still available and would fit.

Still have them. Looking at the size chart on the Xcel site, I'd say that the small/tall would be a little big for him.

You're probably a normal large, my suits are Large short but I can't imagine it being a huge difference. The Ebomb was around $310 with tax and I typed it wrong above the ebomb is the used suit, 10-15 days.

regarding the repair I'd be half tempted to sew it and aquaseal it instead of an external patch.

I read about rolling the suit in a couple of towels to squeegee out the excess moisture, then hang. Will try that.

San Diego? Oh, geez. Don't worry about it. That place is warm.

Seriously though, I just rinse and hang mine up, outside, out of the sun. At night, I move it into the garage and it is dry enough by morning. If I'm feeling chilly, I just put the cuffs down near the floor heat vent and blast the heat on my drive to the beach. It I usually moist, but not dripping wet, unless I'm linking a sunset and sunrise session. But then the surf is usually cranking so I suck it up.

Pretty sure the inside on one of my suit says "best if kept wet". I think if ur suit has enough time to completely dry, then ur doing it wrong. Unless of course you're scoring neck deep pow while your wetsuit is drying

That'd be pimp if the tank was inside your sportsmobile, suit up inside with a heated suit.

In all honesty, I think putting a dry wetsuit on is more difficult than a slightly damp wetsuit. Trying on dry wetsuits in the changing room sucks azz.

In my opinion, San Diego is frigid. I checked temps and you gotta go waaaay down Baja before it improves. I want to go to Hawaii for a couple of weeks so bad in May, but I'm afraid I've just got too much to do around here before summer sets in. And San Diego is generally pretty gloomy in May and June if you ask me. Trying to console myself with the thought of some nice climbs here in Colorado. BUT I WANT TO SURF IN WARM WATER. Hehe.

I wonder how I can stay outside all day every day in subzero temps in Breck, the coldest freaking hill I know. Well there's Vermont I guess. Anyway, maybe I can get used to the 60F ocean, sure hope so. I know I'm being a total wimp here. But look at carpathians pics, so nice!

At least I've got a thick wetsuit coming. Thanks grubbers! Now I need a SUP and a longboard. Maybe some booties too.

Not that Tahoe is cold, but it still amazes me how warm I can be on a windy hill top with 20f air temps compared to surfing 55f water on a 60f day.

On another note, I can recall surfing 45f water on a 15f air day in NYC and jumping in that water felt absolutely toasty. Getting out and changing on the boardwalk or in the subway station was absolutely frigid.

Warm water is good stuff. There are trade offs though. Suits keep you protected from a fin gash or also when you slip and fall on the rocks during entry/exit. I saw this lady crossing the 101 Highway on sunday and she face planted with her board in hand. All I could think was thankfully she had her wetsuit zipped up because she saved herself a huge road rash, the board was another story.

I have a strange way to console myself about wearing the wetsuit this summer. You know all the cool marine mammals in CA, well I kinda pretend to myself that I'll be putting on my seal suit to join their ranks. Sure that sounds really goofy, but you would understand if you've seen The Secret of Roan Innish.

Having just surfed Trestles in a very old, very worn 4/3, with very leaky seams, I can attest to the chilly aspect of the OC water.

And if you can get paid to put on your seal suit, power to ya. Up here, looking like a seal is a bit of an occupational hazard. As in you look like lunch.
