    Thumbs up

When I got into a few colleges in October and sent in my acceptance to WVU, I do not think I brought a book home after that. My 4.0 went to a 3.8 because of this. Big whoop.

HOWEVER, when I got to college, I damned near failed out as I was not expecting that kind of workload the first semester. Dug out of that whole the next 4 years.

Whatever you do, do not attempt this at home.

Good for you! Make the best of it!

Congrats! Hope you got a scholarship, some federal grant money, or your parents are just rich. I think Colby is up around $35K per year. Ouch! At least you'll be fairly close to the Loaf, it's about an 1hr 15min drive.

I graduated in '96 and thought I wanted to go back too. That is until I went back for a wetland class this summer. I realized I miss the parties, the girls, and my friends not school. Basically I miss the college lifestyle. The class work and tests sucked. I found myself actually reading the text book, which I never did in college because I actually wanted a good grade. The fact that work payed for the class had nothing to do with it. I forgot how much of a pain and how much freedom you lose because you have to study for a test.

colby 01 guy here. all east pass, approx. $300...nice. if you try hard, you can get 50ish days a year.

you should also quit the lacrosse team so you can ski more. all my buddies did and felt pretty good about it. lacrosse will get you tail though...but also knocks out spring break, which sucks. and you have to play in the gym all winter. and you have to hang out with sweet lacrosse guys. fake high, shoot low brah.

Had my HS 10 year reunion over Thanksgiving. Yeah, that's a kick square in the (_|_).

Congrats, Showtime06! While I'm also sad to see peeps leaving Jersey, at least you're going in the right direction!

Graduated from UMaine in '94. The drive from Colby to the Loaf is about a half hour shorter than coming from UMaine. Pay your dues and you could prolly stay at the outing club cabin for free. Not sure who's in it now, there were some cool peeps in it when I was in school. Think my brother said it was full of straight-edged jerks when he was in school a few years back though.

    Congrats on the acceptance letter!

This is good advice from Gonzo. I never went on spring break because of lacrosse and I regret it. Sounds juvenile, but a spring trip to NC and Virginia just doesn't make up for the pure debauchery that you know your friends were/are partaking in. And as a side note, lacrosse seemed to work against me the the ladies. Or maybe that was because I limited my shower time to once a week. But you must follow your own path grasshopper.

Congrats. You're about to spend the period of your life with the most expendable time per diem on the east coast!

Yep, got into Penn State Main Campus and Ohio U. WVU had the best Mt. Biking.

    That was my reason. Really.

And I was in AP this, that, and the other too. Pennsbury HS was not too difficult apparently. (Yardley, PA area).

Would have never met by beautiful wife if I had not focused on the biking!

Important Edit: I AM NOT A ROLE MODEL FOR COLLEGE STUFF!!! But I got my degree and that is what counts. And I learned some stuff too.

Class of '05 here(as long as I didnt fail that pchem exam...) Showtime, dont join the crew team either. I was recruited to row here and then stopped sophmore year. Best decision I made here.

You'll have fun here, its a good little place.

Yeah, it's rustic, but what more do you need after a long day of skiing and a long night of drinking at The Bag? Definitely had a critter or two run across my sleeping bag in the middle of the night. I was a broke college student, so I didn't give a shit.

Guess you didn't have to take many English classes.
