There is fluff to be found. I skied it on grass down today. I gotta say euros, that’s seldom seen in the Western US

Holy moly, just had a huge day at the northern end of the Lechtaler. Winds were howling in the Am but backed off by 11. 30cm to drifts up to the hip. Not a lift line to be seen.
Probably my favorite little resort in Austria, every time I’ve been there it delivers

Rock garden is always a pleasure, at least when the traverse out is in decent shape.

Today was great, scored over 10k vert of powder turns. Pistes closed at G3 and maybe 10-15 freeriders running laps. Only the entry points got skied out. Some rocks to ski over and some wind affected cardboard in spots but mostly pretty good.

Hi all,

I'm going to be flying into Zurich in mid December for a 3 week solo ski trip. My main objective is to ski Verbier and maybe ski the Bec.

I have a lot of experience skiing big mountain terrain in Whistler and Jackson hole. I've never skied Europe. I'm proficient with ice axe and crampons and would consider skiing some bigger lines with a guide.

How would you recommend I plan the ski trip? Stay in one place (Verbier?) Or maybe two (Verbier and Chamonix)? I see that all these areas are connect by tram: Mont Gele, Mont Fort, Les 4 Vallees, Mont Rouge, Thyon.

1. Is the terrain around those areas near Verbier all worth skiing?

2. Should I go to Chamonix or stay in Switzerland the whole time?

3. Recommendations on where to stay in Verbier/Cham?

4. Recommendations on finding a Guide?

5. Places to eat, non skiing things to do?

6. Anyone want to meet up and ski?

Yeah, pretty skinny with snow in the high alpine. Hopefully the next week and a half adds up to something

50% of normal snowpack - yikes!

Looks like the high pressure is getting kicked out of the way- hopefully we'll see a change in the pattern next week?

Especially in Switzerland. The further east the more reliable.
But something should happen Monday to Wednesday.
But models range from 10 to 150cm... [emoji3]
Further east in Austria it's more like 60-200cm.
Still a huge range... we'll see more clearly by thu /fri
