Yeah Graham. I have already dropped Graham a line. I skied with him a couple of days last year - a very good chap. Sounds like conditions are gonna be - allrightOriginally Posted by DB

My only fear is that the goods are taken before I hit the slopes. Well the bc never fails![]()
BTW: Graham at pistetopowder can be recommended to anyone going to the arlberg area!
All work and no play, ... you know...
Was with Graham 3rd week Jan and even though it hadn't snowed for 2 weeks he still found us fresh tracks. Then it dumpedOriginally Posted by KANUTTEN

About 40cm's of fresh to report in the Arlberg. Not to much in town here, but the mountain was great. Nothing really opened and lots was sliding on the underlying crust, but with some conservative route selection great turns and face shots were had.
Schweet! Got any tips for the Oberstdorf area?Originally Posted by klar

somebody likes me....
anyone have a link to a radar that covers austria?
i am further east and don't have any local allgäu knowledge, kleinwalsertal, nebelhorn, but that's just vaguely naming the obvious places i guess.Originally Posted by edg
not that i'm complaining, but the weather here is getting a bit ridiculous. complete chaos on the roads, "katastrophenalarm" in areas close by, snow very wet and heavy and the army has been called in to help the fire fighters get snow off the roofs because buildings keep collapsing..

Leysin got some last night.
Not much, but some. I'm guessing 10-20cm.

ibk hasnt got anything today, might be a bit coming in the night but probably not a lot. the storm front is sitting a wee bit too much to south.
Eastern Austria has received a massive dump of up to 150cm. Oberösterreich (Upper Austria) has been particularly affected.

it has snowed a lot in south east bavaria. it is still doing so. in fact, there is snow much snow i cannot go skiing because the roads are blocked. the car would probably get stuck before i got to the road anyway. i don't know what to make of this.
Snow-foreskin has suddenly changed their tune about the up coming 4 -6 days for W- CH...![]()
bluebird powday in st anton today. fucking great turns, including first tracks in schongraben![]()
schindler didn't open today and albonagrat didn't open until the late afternoon so tomorrow is promising to be another epic one.

Saturday: PDS; CH-side. Bluebird, stella blue. Dust on ice and crust.
10 - 15cms of blower pow and hoar-frost.
We did find 20 - 25cms in the wind sheltered gullies and couloirs.
Thank goodness for the ice underneath, no core shots!
Very thin coverage overall, the alpage showing thru in may SW aspects.
Pistes never softened up, hard as nails all day long... ughhhhh.

All 12 of my possible touring partners working today. What are the odds? So just tour up the piste at Les Grands Montets and finish off doing some moguls.
Rocks in the bottom of the moguls from the Herse chair, pistes from Bochard are way too icy for my tastes. But not too big moguls and enjoyable on the Hotel run skier's right of the Herse, as well the Pierre a Ric piste down to town was quite nice... partly because they're making snow down there now.
Seems like about 10-15cm fresh out there from the last little thing that puttered through. Reports are that it's making for decent ski touring so I'm hoping to get out again on Monday.
Meanwhile in Austria this is happening
My mom is reporting epic conditions.
