    right, quick report from kitzbuhel.

Arrived at 10 am yesterday to glorious sunshine. Only the top part of kitz was open, no Penglestein or jochberg yet this early in the season. 25cm at the valley, 50 at the top. Spent the day waking the legs up again for skiing.

There was some powder to be had on the northern facing slopes which was 20-30 cms . On the southern facing slopes, it turned creamy at about midday. The whole area was very quiet and relaxed. Had an awesome day just getting into the skiing again. We're going to head to innsbruck tomorrow morning and see where has the best snow out of axamer, kernautel and stubai. Then drive back to the uk at about 4pm.

Whirlwind austrian tour but loving it.

seemed to hit farther norht than forecast. it was doing this last night. we ended up with probably 30cms around here in the alp vaudiose. roads were pretty messy this morning. had to bail on gstaad plans due to lack of chains. went to g3000 instead. dumping most of the day.

Skied with Schnappi today up around Kl. Matterhorn and Furgsattel.

I'd say prolly 20cm of new, where the wind hadn't scoured it. All in all a very fun day.

Oh man, that does sound good. The streaming webcam has been out of commission all day and I was wondering what the conditions were like.

    Sunday night 04 December 2005
    Leysin, Suisse.
    It's snowing.

Saturday, I awoke to 30cm outside my door. We saw snow most of the day at high altitudes.
Sunday/today, more of the same (less the 30cm outside the door).

Below the freeze line it remained dry today. Above, it snowed, a little.

Reality remains, it is snowing, but we have yet to see that meter outside.
All in all, it is good.

    Hey Roo,
if we play "who got the deepest" next monday i'm sure my posistion won't be that bad

if imay quote the alvalanche Bulletin from slovenia:
"V Julijskih Alpah je na 1000 m do 90 cm snega, nad 1500 m pa od 190 do 200 cm."
i may not understad anythig except the coloured danger level and the snow height at several elevations, but those i do understand

That's some pretty good snega right there. Just checked out the streaming cam at Alpe d'Huez and it's still beating it down. I don't think it'll overtake Bovec but it'll certainly be enough for me.
