Heh, it might seem that way, but I do enjoy going to the track 4 or 5 times a year as I am a member of several car clubs in the midwest. Getting your kicks on a closed road course keeps me from seeking them on public roads. Remember, adrenaline inducing fun is tough to come by here in the heartland. So, it's not really a weenie size issue as it is a versatility thing. The STi like my M can do many things, though I agree that wing is a bit much and would be promptly removed. With a rack and my cargo box it'll plenty of gear and still allow me to get jiggy with it on the race track when the need for speed arises.

I'm not averse to a wagon as I loved my quattro avant back before sport wagons became the rage and people definatley thought I was loony for buying one. Regardless, the Legacy seems to be pulling me in and only a test drive will tell.

Your little tirades are comical. Don't hate me because I've traded the past 7 years of my life to working rather than playing. The fact that I worked for my family has little to do with my financial situation, if anything I was underpaid choosing to look at the long term rewards rather than demand instant gratification. There are all sorts of socio-economic levels represented here as well as on the slopes and it's amusing that you find some solace in chastising those that seem to have more than others. Should I apologize for earning more money than other maggots? Should they apologize for making more turns than I do? Choices bro, we all make em and we all live with em. Get a grip.

For me, the schnozz of the new A6 approaches the tail of the STI in the monstrosity quotient.

    Compare: Rhinomegaly

versus Ass-omegaly (with the added "bling-bling" gold accoutrements just to leave no doubt that your taste is suspect)

Oh, and as for VWs--I'd be careful. My friend bought a new one that lives in the shop.

Here's more practicality: JDPA Vehicle Dependibility stuff.

Sort of surprising that Buick is second, ahead of both Honda and Toyota on that chart.

Just don't flaunt it, that's all. There are several maggots on this board that make bank, but do they make it apparent to the rest of the public? No.

Yeah, but who buys Buicks? Old people. The 1,000 miles per year they put on their cars just isn't enough to produce any significant problems

That is probably a function of marketing more than actual quality. For years the blue-haired Buick market has been inunduated with claims of Buick "quality." These people are less likely to find a problem that others would.

I was out with a friend of mine the other night. I've known Paul since we were kids. He's 33 years old and since he left school at 16 he's probably worked a grand total of 6 months. He has never had and will never have two beans to rub together, but he's still my friend and we get on fine about most things.

He does, however, get very hung up about wealthy people. We were standing at the bar and there was a fortysomething dude, well dressed with a young dolly bird on his arm. "The only reason she's with him is because he's got a Bentley parked outside" he hissed at me. I asked Paul whether that was any more or less valid than the fact that his last girlfriend went out with him only because he is a good looking guy to be seen about town with. He shut up then.

I think all this talks about racks and boxes is subliminal.

Aw c'mon there's lots of adrenaline inducing options in Chicago: walk down through E. Hyde park yelling "nigger". Give a cop the finger. Go into a Greek restaurant and order Turkish coffee. Use your imagination!

Just think of how coowell it would be to race a station wagon and kick somebody's ass due to better driving skills.

    Subie OB xt

The STI rides like it has cement shocks - fun for awhile but would be a chore on roadtrips on marginal roads. The Tuareg seems to be a rolling lemon and is really pretty small. I test drove the Subie and loved it, but was able to lease an Allroad for the same $. Get thee to the Subie shop. 40K for an 02? Bonne chance.

So, I suppose every maggot that has bought a house, taken a $$$ trip or made a purchase is flaunting it...I don't think so. I'm making a change in my life and thought I'd share with the class.

Unless one of the options is a solid gold steering wheel I think you're high. Check values on kbb or some such - trade ins are running around 33-35. Don't ask, I just know. Good luck.

Don't know about drug dealing and Cabrini, but I can tell you there's a lot of adrenaline pumping through my system when I'm driving in a whiteout blizzard in LCC, or Provo Canyon on my way to Park City. And my Subaru Outback wagon handles great - gotta love that AWD and the way it hugs the corners. (I just love the feeling of pulling onto the shoulder and driving with no problems through 6 inches of fresh snow to easily pass the pickup or Civic or whatever that's stuck in the MIDDLE of the road.) The wagon sits a bit higher than the WRXsti, but it's still lower than a lot of other SUVs, gets better gas mileage, is long lasting, has plenty of power and can be relatively easily enhanced, and is perfect for skiing/boarding whether with roof racks or just dropping stuff in the back.
I'm a believer......just traded in my old Outback for a new one, after test driving vehicles of several other makes and models.

Don't forget you can remove the STI's wing... usually done to attract less attention from the po-po, but it also makes it easier to see out the back.
