Funny thing about the WRX / Impreza line is that the wagons are not on the same platform as the sedans. They have a narrower track and handle nothing like each other.

Yup, welcome back down to planet earth with the rest of us, rich boy!

I'd have to agree the Legacy wins from a practical standpoint. But can you make the switch to practical.

I'd go WRX STI, I've had the WRX Sedan and it was bad ass. The STI has me foaming at the mouth I just have to wait untill I'm in a good place on my jeep before I can trade it in. The only problem with the wrx/wrx sti is that you have to run premium gasoline.

Are you sure? The only differences I know of are the fenders and the differential.

Lets just say that euphemistically speaking I'm no fan of Shopping Utility Vehicles. The suck except at very slow speeds in very deep snow.If you lived in the mountains in the middle of nowhere & needed to pull some sleds,I'd say go for it with An Osama utility vehicle.Otherwise, the choice is clear.

Subie Legacy. I could never drive anything like an STI with its monstrosity of a tail--no matter how fast it goes. Plus, you'll save more on gas mileage and speeding tickets with the Legacy--you know, keeping with the theme of becoming "practical."

As for the A6, my mom just bought one, and its nice. Will test it via a road trip to Sante Fe from Topeka in a few days. Will also head up to Taos and maybe Wolf Creek around xmas. Anyone up for a meeting? We still don't get the B4, I'd give it 2 years at least. Truth, I'm heading out to Breck on the 31st of Jan and staying til the 6th of Feb. Up for some skiing/drinking? You are the only person I know that frequents both bf.c and here. I still vote the same way, but avoid SUV's at all cost. Mine gets roughly 10.2 mpg. Its fuckin rediculous, esp. coming from a 318is where I averaged 425 miles per tank, and that was driving it hard...

Yeah, it's a little much. I can see it if you're in your early twenties, but it starts looking funny for a legitimate adult to drive one

It's gotta be a subie. Now the real decision is whether you're concerned with comfort and being able to haul a lot of stuff and potentially snooze in it, or whether, at your age, you still have weenie size issues.

So basically you are leaning to the Sti because it performs, but you say you don't like the interior. You also say that you want something for road trips in style. The Sti is not the car for that. Get a V-dub R32. You have great performance (not quit Sti performance, but close) and a way more swanky intereior. Plus a better cruising car for road tripping.

Of course, you said above that you are done with Audi, so maybe you wouldn't even consider this, but I would test drive one if I were you just to make sure before crossing it off the list.
