    I need your vote!

I need to downsize, prioritize and re-humanize my life. The M3 must go! Seeking a mid priced all weather city friendly machine that can withstand in great style extended road trips into snowy high altitude environs and long stretches parked in phUnks driveway.

oh dude. thats a nobrainer. if youve got the money, the STI is a hellava higher performance vehicle than any of the others. its just a sick car. period.

not to mention that subarus are very reliable cars and my family has owned outbacks since '97 (2 to be exact. traded in the first one for a newer one just to keep up with the lease) and only have good things to say about them. in Feb '05 the lease is up on the one we have now and we thought about 3 cars (the new 250 horse outback, the audi A4, and the beamer 325xi) and needless to say were goin back to the outback because the others have been so good to us. plus its a sick car even when matched up with the audi and beamer.

    Performance = WRXSti

Practical w/ very good performance = Subie OUTBACK wagon GT (more ground clearance than the Legacy)

Do a search for Pathfinder for my experience with the Nissan Pathfinder. (I will never buy another Nissan.) I was responding to someone's request for info.

I'm obviously biased - GT all the way - wagon for the boards and the new pup that you need.

Getting my boost kit installed next week - 320 hp before pipes.

I'm partial to Subs, but the Passat wagon sure is nice for a ski car.

This thread reeks of a road trip comin on.

Whats the M goin for, cause I should have listened about the milage on this gas hog supercharged Xterra. Definatly goin back to the Roundel for at least a few more years before my final move westward...

But, as for your needs, I've vote STi for fun, Legacy for fun/practicality. You could make the switch over to Ingolsdat and look for a wagon w/ Quattro...

Go for the GT Wagon. It’s performance is great and it can haul stuff.

I've done Quattro and I'm not looking to go back. I'm over Audi NA. The M3 is a 2002 SMG so I should be able to get at least 40G on a trade. Thus I have quite few choices...but the more cash I spend the less I have to ski with this winter as I am no longer earning anything but interest.

The sti has me by the heart because I can still track it, but it's so tinny and plastic on the inside....just not anywhere near what I'm used to (go on, cry for me). The new Legacy is super nice for subie...hell, Karl Stall bought one!

The new pathfinder is quite nice, and my 1990 served me well for many years in Colorado. It's just frickin HUGE for the city.

Hmmmm....I wonder how my packasport box will look on an sti?

I'm sure you could track the Legacy GT with a few mods plus have the space.

My boost kit comes right off with no indication it was ever there.

I know, I'm just not looking to play any games at all. I want to be able to cash out on the M and end up with a new car and something in my pocket. Not a new project.

Don't overlook the Dodge Neon. It's not really a straight across trade, but if you've been tired of beautiful women staring at your beamer the Neon is just the car for you. With options like "god damned handles" for rolling down the windows you'll have it out of the way long before you take air on the hill. And besides what says "I'm secure in my manhood" more than a Dodge Neon? It may also say I live with my parents and make Chef Boyardee for my dates, but there are people that aspire to that lifestyle. They may live in third world countries and use a dirt hole in the floor to crap into, but you know what, when they're crapping in the middle of their dirt living room floor they're dreaming about a Dodge Neon. Would a BMW sales person ever tell you that? I didn't think so.

I think you can put an M3 wing on a Neon...

As a matter of fact, I saw a whole M3 conversion on a Ford Escort

Do you have floor space available?

Actually, I've spent some quality time in neon's in driving schools, great handling cars for learning vehicle dynamics.

They will not put space between you and a 996tt though.

Better than floor space. You could have your own room with a bed. What's in the works?
