I'm gonna be stuck in Grand Lake for a few days coming up (woe is me), and would like to get out and do some touring while I'm there.
Anyone know of any good areas to ski around that area? And no, I don't have a sled.
Thanks!

Fighting leads to killing, and killing gets to warring. And that was damn near the death of us all.
Bump and hope.

That's a tough area to get after it. If you don't mind long approaches, you have Chief Cheley, Ida, Cracktop, and Julian. Definitely best for a weekend vs. a daily hit.
EDIT - on a closer look, there might be some options on the peak just south of Pettingell Lake. And you might be able to ski 2400+ in a south-facing drainage off Ptarmigan Mountain ... both with easier access than above.

This book is pretty well put together with good maps and a ton of routes. Mostly meadow skipping.
