Where should this epic trip take place?

Telenater was kind enough to send me plane tickets to go skiing. I was able to clear some time (5 days moday-friday) during the first week of January. Now All i need to know is where to go.... I have very little money so I have to stay in a hostel, and i need to find cheap transportation to and from the slopes.

    Tahoe:
i dont know how easy it is to get to and from the slopes in tahoe so if any of you know please share

There seem to be a plethora of hostels allover tahoe.
    Doug’s mellow mountain retreat-
15 bucks a night. but i cant figure out exactly where in the south lake it is located, but the nearest skiing is going to be heavenly...
    Lone Pine hostel
$22 a night. Also in south lake, but this appears to be about 2 miles from the base of heavenly, so worst comes to worst i can walk there.

    Utah:
I would love to go to Utah, but I am unable to find any hostels in close proximity to the slopes (LCC that is) I was able to find a couple in Park City but they were very expensive for hostels (50 a night). Any information you have about utah hostels would be greatly appreciated.

    Anywhere else that southwest flies:
I am always open to other places to go, providing they aren’t too far from a southwest airport, and there is some sort of bus or shuttle service between the airport and there.

as always, if any of you wonderful people out in maggot land have some free time to ski during mid week. I would be much obliged if you would join me. Also if anyone feels like letting me sleep under their bed, in their shed, or behind there couch, I would be happy to comply. I am an 18 year old house broken male, mild mannered and very polite... plus ill be your bitch, paint the fence!

At any rate I am going to go skiing somwhere, and thank you so much nate this should be a great trip!

Could you make it to Taos? I know Southwest flies into that area. I'm not sure on cost, but since it's a funky old resort, there's probably still some cheap lodging around.

If you're going mid-week, to South Lake Tahoe, call around to see if you can find a lift +lodging deal at the motels. There is lots of lodging that's walking distance to the gondola, yet dirt cheap. My wife and I got 3 days of lift tickets, and 4 nights of lodging for $500 over Thanksgiving, and we could have gone even cheaper. There are lots of shuttles to get around the lake too, so you wouldn't be stuck at Heavenly.

You should use it to go to the Vegas AVN convention.

It might be too much for you, but the dorms at the Peruvian at Alta (as was recently discussed) for about $150/nite over a five day stay including bed, lift ticket and three good meals is a pretty good deal.

The bigger issue might be that you'd have to fly into Albuquerque and it's 135 miles from Taos.

Doug's is on the California side, not so near the casinos. Good if you like to drink and party with underage Germans, not so good if you need to sleep. The Monaco Blu Zu is a motel behind the casinos with hostel pricing: only two to a room, so you sleep well You won't meet very many people there, though, it's a motel.

Almost all the South Lake motels are $29 any night except Friday, Saturday, or holidays. There are tons in Meyers and behind the casinos. Find a cheap looking one with a hot tub and ask.

There are at least two hostels in SLC but I don't remember the names.

there is a nicer hostel in the Avenues, but harder to get to and from the mountains.
This one is next to Car dealerships, but walking disatance from the Trax line which takes you to 7200 South where you catch a ski bus to Alta/Solitude/bird/brighton.

    Do it.

Why don't you round up an audience and put on one of those college girl lesbian shows that you're so famous for. That'll get you some extra scratch

    Droop:
Park City has a hostel on Main Street. I don't know the name of it but it's located above this club called Plan B. And the cool thng about Plan B is that they have 2 dollar mixed drinks on Fridays. So you can get bombed for cheap, and that is always good.
