Anybody ski? Rained here, just clearing. Should I wake up early?

Was in the mid 30's with sprinkles today at sugarbush....clouds low and visibilty poor. I didn't ski but was running around the base area all day. Reports were that the snow was nice n' soft, but i wouldn't set your alarm for 5am....
To the Thingmajigger!
Snow is still better than all rain when you have a comp lift ticket.
Insominia is my new hobby.
What are you doing in the Bean, James? Just visiting for work, I guess?
Where are you staying while you're there?
Skied Smuggs yesterday a.m.. Crusty on top of dense wet snow. Tricky shit until it got broken up with some traffic. After that it was pretty good. Until my ski delamed and i had to quit at 9:30 cause I didn't bring another set(dumbass).
But snowed lastnight and it is snowing right now with more on the way for Monday and tuesday. It is starting to shape up pretty good around here.
MildBill and Basom and MB's lady friend stayed at my place last night. We went to brew fest at Smuggs. Pretty good time. MB made friends with my dogs![]()

skied K. Wasn't bad at all, provided you had a nice waterproof shell. The rain made the whole mountain soft, but snow fell first, so there was a nice sloshy layer of fresh for everything. Provided we don't get a melt, I think it was actually good for everything, as the base is pretty solid now. Trees aren't completely ready yet, but a few are skiable. A good day, but wet.
Yeah, well, it's all frozen now.
First time this ever happened to me. Made sure I was out there first thing, and became an honorary chair melter. Didn't have my most serious pants on, but I'm not sure that the best of snowboard pants would have prevented this. Got soaked thru sitting on ice for the first hour, which resulted in enough discomfort to force a shutdown at noon. Oh, and paid $3.50 for an orange juice. Wonderful day.

Heh, yeah, the chairs were pretty nasty at first. I honestly wouldn't have had a good time if I wasn't skiing with some of the kzone/tgr folks.Originally Posted by Benny Profane

look on killingtonzone.com for the meeting place (we meet at 10AM). A few of us have PM stickers, and I'm always in an orange+grey northface, white pants and a black giro with stickers on it.
