    Surprised this morning

Have you ever decided to go skiing and not checked the report before leaving town? Here is my recommendation why you always should... you may end up taking the wrong skis and not be able to rip to the best of your ability the 38cm fresh(thats about 16") of fresh that materialised over night. Also in the same vain if it is pouring rain in town and your base area is 3000' above you , you should be able to figure this out. We ,for once, got the best of the CDN Rockies deal today.
Move along nothing to see here.

Or worse off you get half way there, call to check conditions, and find out that They are closed due to "unseasonably warm weather." I woke up at 5:30 this morning for nothing! (except a rather relaxing drive)

Dont think I'm stupid or anything, the message said the same thing early this morning as it did thursday. I had no Idea they were going to close.

    Jasper?? weibo.
Sometimes people not figuring out rain at 3500' is likely snow at 6000' is a good thing, though. Soft and deep at the Lake today, no people. I thought I was going to have to wait in a liftline once, but it turns they were waiting for someone.
Nice to be getting some, eh.

Sunshine today was steller. Great runs all day on 30cm or so overnight plus a bunch over the week. Thigh deep on some runs. Managed to time our first run on Goats Eye with the opening of Hells Kitchen and scored first tracks through some great snow.

Great to be getting some close to home for a change.

it's pretty rare that we get to gloat about conditions in the rockies- but man it's fun when it happens. I thought the Lake got tracked up pretty quick today though. at least by Louise standards. you could tell it wasn't mid-week anyhow.
