    Vail was very nice today....

    ...but what about tomorrow??

Saturday, with the addition of Chairs 5, 17, 36, 37 and 39, portions of Sun Up, Tea Cup, and China Bowl and all of Blue Sky Basin will open, offering expert terrain ideal for powder skis and boards. The mountain opens at 9 am with 3,000 acres of terrain!

You skied today?, How was the snow, the pics I saw made it look a tad heavy.

It was definatley lighter up top than down low.

Heavy by CO standards, but pretty deep in the trees and I didn't even notice once I was going.

Gamecreek, Chair 2 and Riva trees were very nice. The sun never came out either, so it should still be good tomorrow.

    Oh it's on!!

Don't pretend it's not on when it most clearly is on.

Good. Heavy snow this time of year is just what we need. Anyone make it up to Loveland or WP?
    More gauze pads, please hurry!

The Jane was pretty nice but a lot of the stuff on the WP side was pretty wind-scoured. Patrol was in the chutes doing ski cutting this morning and I wouldn't be surprised to see them open soon. Just about everything off of the challenger lift was soft and deep, before the crowds got there, anyway!

How many rocks...anyone? I need to decide on skis that will enjoy snow or skis that will punish me yet accommodate rocks.

vail was even better today...despite predictions, the mountain was empty. Started to fill up by noon at blue sky, but easy to find new snow in the trees all over. Hit some rocks over in the dragons teeth. Fantastic past 2 days...tomorrow off, back out Monday.....

fucking amen to that. We put down 5 untracked or nearly untracked laps in the back bowls and blue sky before it started getting crowded, and then still had 3 or 4 more pretty decent laps as we worked our way out of the back and to the car, as we bailed early to beat the hateful rush back down I-70. Evil E, MD9, Crinkle, Freshie, Funken, Funken's buddy (forget his name right now), and I; good times, good times.

Loveland was a disappointment today. No new openings, and souper sloppy seconds. However, it felt nice to ride a lift today.

Well, step up and get in contact with people, dumdumhead!

    PM can be your friend.

The worst they can say is "No."

Well, actually the worst thing they can say is "No, and we hate you and we're going to hunt you and everyone you know down and kill all of you slowly and precisely, making sure it takes as long as possible so you suffer to the maximum extent, and then we'll masturbate on your corpses."

But they won't say that, I'm fairly certain.

edit: I'm not certain at all. RUN!!!

definitely creamy goodness everywhere. For once we stayed ahead of the curve, laying a lot more first tracks than usual in that place. good times skiing with maggots as usual, this time on home turf

wookie u drive a izuzu, we saw a powder sticker on a izuzu trooper on the way home.

    I concur,
It was a blast today at Vail! It was good skiing powder in the back yard with Cinkle, MD9,Yoss, Evil E,Funkendrenchman ,& CO.We had the maggotcam, but it was so sweet it was hard to remember to shoot!

The 1st run of the day was Sun up bowl,in 8 turns at about 35MPH.It was like Hell's Angels on snow!We hit Tea Cup a couple of times until Blue SKy opened,& then I had a personal powder mission in Pete's trees off chair 39.

Sun started to bake it around 1pm.
    Calmer than you dude

Vail did not suck. Good soft snow. Even some mini-hucking (5-10 feet WOOHOO, not much base yet) Good times. Fun peeps. Awesome tour from the locals. A few more good storms and things will be killer out that way. The first handful of runs were schweet.
