Post Rumor Mill: Dynastar Big Trouble Fat twin

Found this on a post-it note outside the Dynastar sales meeting at Snowbird this week.

    Dynastar Big Trouble
    92mm underfoot
    175 and 185 length
probably similar construction to the TroubleMaker
approximately 1 prototype in the universe (translation: it's still pretty early in the game)

Sounds like Dynastar's wood core PocketRocket killer. That's .

Only 92mm? What gives? I was hoping for closer to 100. 97 to match the Pros would be nice.

Overlap isn't real good for ski sales. They want people to buy both l, one as a BC jib stick and one as an all mountain ownerizer.

phUnk, will you be getting yourself a slutted pair of these?

Seldon's got it. What good would a "Legend Pro with more tail kick and a softer flex" be? It'd be so close to the LP that there would be little to distinguish the two, performance wise.

Also, I think they want to stay on the jib side of "fat jib" rather than head off into Gotama land where people are really just skiing them as pow skis rather than jibbing with them much.

Pocket Rocket killer, I'm telling you.

Seldon: Only if it'll piss you off to know I have a pair and you don't.

Keep an eye out for the new Fischer's with similar intentions - 186 with 96mm waist, wood core and full twin. Should be an equally fun ski for dorking around on.

Dude, why must you stalk all my threads and talk about Fischer? Everybody knows they only make old school race skis.

It sounds like the Mojo: 125/90/118

Speaking of which, I don't know why I don't see more of those. Everyone I spoken to who's tried them loves them.

Possibly because Head has some pretty crappy marketing (other than the I heart Head stickers and t-shirts, of which they are very few of) and pretty much a non-existant list of pro riders...

If you'd just pick a damn ski sponsor and stick with them, rather than rotating thru about 4, it'd be a lot easier for everyone...

Right now I'm on Line, K2 and Dynastar. Oh, and Spyder, I mean Sessions, I mean, a clear garbage bag with the Mt. Baker logo.

Hey, I wish I was sponsored by Sessions!

I thought you were a "brofessional"? Or was that last week?

    Thumbs up

Bump for an update direct from the January 2005 Freeskier magazine:
A year from now, Dynastar's new-school ski linuup will have an entirely new face. If you like your tricks out of bounds, look for a new fat-twin, the Big Trouble, to appear in a few stories this winter and everywhere in fall '05. The ski will measure 124-94-114 and the wood-core ski has much of the same core construction as the Trouble Maker. On the other hand, pure-park skiers will have the choice of a Crichton Pro Model or a Marie Martinod Pro Model. Topsheets for the two pro models were not available at press time.

By fall '05, you can also expect a huge line of "Trouble" skis to join the Maker - Troubled Youth, Sweet Trouble, Nothing But Trouble, and so on.
I couldn't find a pic on the web, but the Big Trouble graphics are mostly black, with some cool, smoky grey & white flames right near the tip with more flames on the left ski than the right. Pretty bad-ass.

So, has anyone seen these in their local shop yet? I just got my Little Big Fats warrantied, so I am hoping they give me the Big Trouble as a replacement.
