I'll be there on the 12th. This is the second season that I have a pass at Mammoth. I'm still getting to know the mountain better. There is a lot to explore. I'm sure that there are other maggots who know the place very well. Check out this roll call thread:

I'm not going up till the 20th, but I can give you some hints (although you should be able to figure most of this out from checking out lift maps).

Chair 22: Lots of steep trees, and bump runs. This is where all the action is on a storm day when the top is closed (assuming the winds aren't too crazy)

Chair 23: This dumps you on a ridge-line with lots of interesting stuff. There isn't a tree in site, but you can find bumps, wide open bowls, narrow chutes, and truly extreme stuff off this lift.

The top (upper Gondola): Similar terrain to chair 23 (it accesses a lot of the same terrain), but the gondola isn't as easy to lap. However, you can access the left side of the mountain from here.

Chair 1/ Chair 2: On a really nasty storm day, this is where I ski if 22 is closed. Gravy chute is obvious (right under Chair 1), but it can be fun, and if you go left or right of the main chute, you can usually find some fun stuff that doesn't get tracked as quickly. Roger's Ridge (it's on the trail map, but I'm not going to tell you how to get there) is THE place for open bowl style skiing when the visibility is low and the winds are high.

    Have fun.

I'm planning on being up there the 16th-18th. First days of the season.

I'd be down for some turns. The standard meeting time/spot would be Friday, 10:00 a.m. at the big map in front of the Mid Station. Any of the other SoCal clan gonna be there?

And, yeah, Bullet knows, uhh, NOTHING about Mammoth.
