    Lightbulb "LIFE THREATENING BLIZZARD CONDITIONS"

Severe Weather Alert from the National Weather Service

...GREATER LAKE TAHOE AREA- 432 AM PST WED DEC 8 2004
... BLIZZARD WARNING ABOVE 7000 FEET UNTIL 8 PM PST...

... SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW ADVISORY BELOW 7000 FEET UNTIL 8 PM PST...

SNOW... HEAVY AT TIMES... WITH INCREASING SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL CREATE LIFE THREATENING BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ABOVE 7000 FEET TODAY. WIND SPEEDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 65 MPH ARE EXPECTED TODAY WITH GUSTS TO 100 MPH OVER EXPOSED RIDGES. THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WIND AND SNOW WILL CREATE NEAR ZERO VISIBILITIES FOR AREAS ABOVE 7000 FEET TODAY. SNOWFALL WILL TAPER OFF DURING THE AFTERNOON... BUT STRONG WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO CREATE BLOWING SNOW AND BLIZZARD CONDITIONS THROUGH 8 PM. BELOW 7000 FEET... WARM AIR ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM WILL CHANGE THE SNOW TO RAIN WITH VISIBILITIES OF 1/4 MILE OR BETTER BY 10 AM PST. HOWEVER... WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH WILL STILL BE POSSIBLE BELOW 7000 FEET THROUGH 8 PM... WHICH MAY OCCASIONALLY REDUCE VISIBILITIES IN BLOWING SNOW.

TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES ARE EXPECTED AT LAKE LEVEL BY MID MORNING WITH 1 TO 2 FEET OF SNOW ABOVE 7000 FEET BY THIS AFTERNOON. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL THROUGH THE SIERRA TODAY... MAKE SURE YOU CARRY A WINTER SURVIVAL KIT.

    Angry

This storm sucks. There's a big ass hill behind my house and my home builder put a culvert along the the hill at my property line to divert flowing water around my backyard. This fucking piece of shit culvert decided to fall apart under this storm and now there's a waterfall rushing down this hill and into my backyard. My backyard is completely flooded...the waterline should be approaching my back door in the next few hours. Wonderful. If any of you get turned around by the roads on the way to KW this morning you're welcome to come on over to my place and we'll go swimming.

And WTF is up with tchohee and this snow report this morning??!?! It took him focking 10 minutes of blabber just to get to how much snow they recieved...grrrr......happy effing Wednesday fockers!!!

Usually I would agree, but not if youre missing an ACL

    thanks kush.

however, this does not explain why I continually call the KW snow report to see what is going on.

Ronald I dont think youre missing much. The snow is unbelievably wet at the top of Kingsbury today, I would say its wet to the point where it wouldnt be a whole lot of fun. Im taking the day off and praying that tommorrow will be better (plus I wanna be less sick this weekend. ).

Fack! 6 just openned. All morning they said they highly doubted it would. The first couple of laps would have been sweet. But it looks like rain/mank at the base now. Plus it's getting warmer. I'm with hr, gonna go for early ups tomorrow and hope for some cold snow overnight.

As of 10:26 am Wed...the Spur and Echo Summit is closed due to Avalanche control...

    STRONG WINDS ARE
EXPECTED AND WILL CREATE LIFE THREATENING BLIZZARD CONDITIONS IN
HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE SIERRA TODAY.
Damn....its sad to see 6 turning, but this makes me think that tomorrow should be good as well, as long as the roads open
