I'm thinking of going too...I have that day off...

must check to see if funds are there. However, I will need a functional tranciever to have the BC gear...

does the patrol stop you to check if you have a probe too?

You can borrow my shiny brand new never-used tracker if you'd like.

I'm trapped in work-land through next Sunday. Monday is looking like a good possibility for dust-on-rain-crust, though.

    it sure was nice today!

Jumper, the patrol might not stop you for not having that stuff if they don't see you leaving, but that's part of the crucial kit that you NEED anytime you're skiing BC w/ other people.

Thursday sounds good but no I5 for me. No avy gear either but I can put a spade handle in a pack so it looks like I'm equipt.
If you have a problem & think that someone else is going to solve it for you then you have two problems.

Wow, it looks like we might have quite a crew. Zeedash is off the Board for a while, but he's in. I'm thinking another early 5:30am departure is in order.
Anyone coming up from 405- we can meet at the park/ride off exit 183 (West Side) about 5:45am. I will graciously volunteer the subie, provided we can split some gas $.

And Funken, if you're commute from CO to WA involves some Snocrummie Pass action- and (a big "if") Alpental is open with good snow- you might want to make that 1.5 mile detour at the Summit.

    Yeah, I know, I know...

I used to have 2 functional trancievers. One (my old Pieps) has had its earpiece lose its electrical circuit, meaning no more sound; and my far newer SOS beeper mysteriously split in half at the casing mould line. That sucker needs to go back...actually I need to just buy myself a similar shiny new Tracker (it's on the xmas list) too, and get the SOS fixed.

I've never skied with a probe, although I should, and I will be fixing that very soon. I also need a big shovel as the one I've got works, but is still pretty small.

Ug....it looks so good and I know it will be fun...on the other hand this finals shit is really freaking me out. It would suck to fail a class now and fuck up my primo skiing/school schedule next semester that will allow me 5 days a week on hill...i have a final at 1:30 and if all goes well, I may reward myself. At this point, there is about 15% chance that there will be a girski sighting at Baker tomorrow....

Grumph from someone who has to work ....

You might want to consider rubber duckies and an umbrella. The airmass seems to be coming in about 3 degrees warmer than predicted.

    This southwest flow aloft is
expected to tap into subtropical moisture ushering in a period of
warm and very wet conditions over the region beginning Thursday
    afternoon.

Freezing levels should climb rapidly during the day
Thursday and winds strengthen ahead of a series of frontal waves
initially reaching the area Thursday afternoon.

I was just asked to take the day off tomorrow so I can be here for opening Saturday! Didn't even have to ask. Sweet http://tetongravity.com/ubb/icons/icon14.gif

I don't have the studs on my car, so I'd appreciate a ride from the z-bo pickup spot on I-5.

    If I go...

    Latest spot forecast for 3600':

Tonight: Snow showers. Snow accumulation 6 inches. Probability of measurable precipitation 100 percent. Southwest wind 16 mph. Low 28.

Thursday: Snow. Snow accumulation 1 inch. Probability of measurable precipitation 80 percent. South wind 15 mph. High 33.

    Should be sloppy.

Debating coming over tonight and crashing in the car or taking the red-eye and getting up there at 0930. Either way,

Red HH jacket, extremo red and black full face helmet and yellow dakine pack.
Baker posse channel 5-4 (they think I don't know it, but someone let it slip).
All else fails, see you all in the tap room.
