    Talking Utah 12/11-12/16(pre-Mini)

Once the Mini kicks off it'll be insane out there, but will there be anyone around from the 11th through the kickoff of the Mini? Since we get in at 11:00, we'll be skiing a half day at a Park City resort, since it's free. After that our schedule looks something like this, although days can change depending on snow, weather, etc.

Sunday: PCMR or the Canyons, we'll play the snowphone game and see which has more open that's worthwhile skiing
Monday: Solitude with Stoy and Buster and whoever else wants to show up
Tuesday: The Canyons with friends and hopefully powstash, maybe Inspector Gadget will make and appearance?
Wednesday: The Canyons or Alta, depending on snow and weather, of course.

So who is gonna be kicking around Ootah those days. PM me if you feel like getting together for some turns. See ya soon.

Bump. Might be in for Snowbasin Sunday if enough new terrain opens to warrant bustin out the Spats. All we can do is hope, right? Next week is gonna kick ass. Only 2 more tests and I'm home free.

Bump yet again. Looking like Snowbasin on Sunday, with the prospect of new terrain opening. SoliMonday is still on. I'll be asking for change at Snowbasin Sunday though. Let me know if you'll be there.

I'll probably be at Basin Sunday. Time is yet to be decided. With friends in town, its always up in the air. JP will be open. Got avy gear?

No avy gear, but I plan to be on the Spats. Snow should be great inbounds too. I have a feeling Strawberry will open Sunday. Flyk, any word yet about that side of 'Basin?

Strawberry opening? they better have gotten a ton of snow over there to open. Southwest faces at low elevations were hammered this year. They might save that for the holiday week to save some money. would be cool though...just bring the rock boards just in case.

Think they'll be enough soft leftovers near JP to warrant the Spats on Sunday, or am I being overly optimistic?

totell you the truth..they say opening Saturday...which means it opens Friday. Haven;t been up there yet this year so i couldn't tell you what the conditions are like...paging Flyk.....

BUt the hike out to the great unknown might be really really sweet! but don't go without any avy gear...especially not after these storms and winds.

Be forewarned: I am a lover of safety meetings.

I'm expecting to lurk at Solitude Sunday-Monday. I'm ass zooming the usual suspects will be worshipping their SoliSunday. BobMc? Unfortunately, that Taos run dood will be at Gordy's camp, which I just couldn't make.

Thereafter, I'd just like to do Alta for a day or two, possibly a day at the bird and then another day at some different place. Does Xover always yell? Will Gordy be ripping around?

I have to jet out Thursday night, need to be @ the airport @ 6:30, so SB is a possibility if I can get a ride.

    relax young padawan,
go, enjoy, ski deep snow you will, do not fear.

    Where to go?
you will know when you are calm, at peace. Passive.

Need not run out for the first tracks, put oFf not you will be by those before you...
beware of anger...fear...aggression. The dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. Enjoy your time in Utah.
    Treasure it, you shall.

Adventure. Heh! Excitement. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

Concentrate...feel the Force flow. Yes. Good. Calm, yes. Through the Force, things you will see. Other places.

PLan not so much and be much more, yessss.

Yes, O wrinkled one of the dried booger color. Flexible I shall be, spewing the vacuous ravings of a turgid, glandlike french fry, eyes akimbo, peering into the turbid future. Verily, the glades are frought with wankers and attention whores, so lurk I will in the shadows of the coniferous sentients.

And so with whelklike state, I lie, inching along the virtual seafloor, leaving a subtle, but slimey trail. For I am the Slug Of Mystery.

Ha, I just said the exact same thing in a PM to glade. I really doubt they will have strawberry open this weekend but they could suprise us. But like stoy said, if they do, bring rock skis, the worst core shot I've ever had was on the opening of strawberry last year. It's possible that they would save opening no-name for the weekend, if they do BE THERE.

p.s. stoy, if you decide to partake in the "7 deadly sins" be careful, lots of windloading on a weak layer.

Who names this stuff? That's way too extreme.

How about "ass-pumpkin gulch"? I don't even care if it's a gulch or not.

    Hans.

Actually, hearing what those guys call stuff and why is funny. Hans always wears "party shirts". The traverse we call the party traverse is really the party shirt traverse. The 7 deadly sins are various chutes and gullys in Hell's canyon. I've got lots more, you need to get out here soon.

7 deadly sins? Tell Hans whats up for me. I was actually thinking UFO route...safest route out there. Know of that one?

Also, just for the adventure...might have to hit up COldwater, just for kicks.

I'll be at basin saturday (morning)/sunday... they turned on JP today and were bombing the shiz out of it... quite a few charges were heard coming from john paul face and other areas close to the open stuff... not as much far away. Maybe a limited JP opening w/women's downhill, etc but not the easter bowl/no name area?

Also, it was snowing harder at basin today than I've seen in a while... lots of new, somewhat heavy snow to build up the base, so maybe they'll open up strawberry soon if it doesn't all blow away.

I'll play tour guide at Solitude on Monday if you all want. We will figure it all out later this weekend.
