You tell us. Things tend to start about 4:30ish as most are already there with a pitcher and go till we all decided to get out of our ski shit and go party. Honestly, I can't remember from last year.

I guess we come over when you say and once you are home.

    I helped a ton there didn't I.

I dunno about you guys...but I ski to last chair! So I won't be at the GMD til prolly 5pm.

Boarderline, are you planning to be at the GMD? Maybe you can make a public service announcement and say "OK I'm going now!" Then some of us can come w/ you to set up or wot not.

Did you mention earlier that there's no snow in your backyard? Well, there's still a few days to go. Maybe some sacrifices are in order!

I'll be at the GMD after-party. I'll plan on bailing out of there to my house about 5:30 or 6 to get the fire pit blazing, the barbeque hot, and the first pitcher of margaritas mixed.

Should be a great time, hope everyone can come.

Unfortunately, high temps (into the high 50s this last weekend) and no recent snowfall in the valley = no snow in the yard. Jib plans have been scrapped *much* to my chagrin. Ullr.

We can go help you get ready b/c it's unlikely they'll let us in to the bar b/c of the kid (unless it's a restaurant type place too). Not sure how that works out there. In VT they really don't care b/c people w/ kids are mostly there to eat and the bar/restaurant is not always clearly separated.

Guess I'll play it by ear but would love to help set up in any case.

Sprite, just called em and kids are a OK!!! They just cant drink beer is what Penny said.

Penny did say he can't go up to the bar though, even to order a water or pop. Mom or dad has too.

They do have great pizza there too, FYI.

They are happy to have us!

We've got a boarder in tow, so we'll be at the Bird on Friday as well.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Cool, sounds like you guys will have a good group!

All I can ski is groomers right now and so there is a very good chance I will be skiing by myself. Hmmmm, maybe hit the Bird Friday. But I would like to ski, just not by myself, it has been a few years.

Buzz, we'll take a few runs with ya. My dad can only ski so much off piste before the legs turn to jelly, so come to Alta, they'll be someone to ski with fer sure.

Also, how is Snowbasin looking for Thursday? It seems like places at lower elevations are getting hit hard by this warm weather. Any plans to move that day to a Cottonwood Canyon resort?

Oh yeah, I'm sittin in an internet cafe in Park City right now. Skiied Solitude yesterday and met up with Woodsy. Now our new favorite mountain. Friends who were at Targhee are gettin into town tonight, so it's looking good for the next few day. Now we just need somw damn fresh snow.

    Woodsy is a Wanker.

I gots to work Thursday so really it is up to you all. Go where the best snow is. I wish I could make it dump like the other MINIs but it is not Feb and I dont have the power I guess.

Solitude is a hell of a lot of fun. Basin and the Solisunday are my favorites.

So how do you like it so far, you should have one hell of a google tan for all the girls back home!

What did ya hit today? Or rest day, get stuff done?

    What skis were you on?

And what skis may I be on Friday? Still trying to find a pair so I dont have to bug you for yours. My bindings are mounted, but need some luv before I put em to the test.

We skiied Deer Valley for free Saturday afternoon, was more fun than I expected. No complaints about knee deep pow in the trees. I decided to take out just the PR's at Solitude and definitely found their speed limit trying to keep up with Woodsy. Amazing little hill, even though we only did one lap through Honeycomb. Evergreen was chalky, styrofoam, windbuff and so, so sweet. Today was at PCMR, which was a serious disappoinment. Mediocre terrain at best, lots of gapers and super crowded. Tomorrow is still up in the air.

So far i'm loving it out here. Looking for an excuse to return to Solitude because it's so damn uncrowded (and cheap ). It's looking like it might snow Tuesday night and Wednesday, so all we can do is hope. I could have easily been on the Spatty's at Solitude, but we skiied some groomers too, so it woulda been too much work. Your 6-pack is sittin in out fridge waitin for ya.

Good news about the skis, but if something comes up and you need a pair, just give me a holler, I'll be happy to help out. I have spotty internet access, so if you need to reach me, call. Just keep thinkin' snow.

Just got off the phone with Lumpy and it looks like I am golden with a pair of his PR's. Small adjustment and I will remember why I hated ski boots again.

Looking for an excuse for Solitude: Here is one. Solitude Sucks, dont go there!!

Are you hitting the Lifthouse ski shop to the west of 7-11 at the base of BCC and LCC for $5 off a ticket????

I dunno, I'll post something on wednesday morning.

Probably at 9ish by the moose... I'll PM my cell # to anyone that's planning to go up

Oh, and though I did get off work for thursday, I really don't care if people would rather go somewhere else... don't feel obligated to come to basin or anything. I'll enjoy myself regardless. You will miss out on the cookies, though.

i'll be skiing wednesday morning, probly Alta, maybe the bird. But thats it for my summit forays, unfortunately (if that even counts, i think maybe one other person will be around). I'm out for the count this weekend, going to a wedding in the adirondacks, which will be awesome, but i'm sorry i will miss the mini. buzz, do you have any stickers left from last year? never got one...

maybe i should really make the maggette ski day happen this year to make up for missing the mini.

have fun all, and boarderline. . . pffft. . . you dont need snow, get some ourdoor carpet or something. i expect reports of full on mayhem

Hey, that's excellent about them letting my kid in! He will be happy to know. He loves bars. Thanks boarderline for checking for me!

As for Maggette Day: Do you think we should/could call Saturday official Maggette day? Is it most likely all the ladies will be there that day since it's a weekend day (presumably -- hopefully-- most would be off work)?

You might be able to convince Mrs. Comish that this isn't such a weird place, then again, prolly not.

I'm still looking for a ride to the snow on Monday and Tuesday from near the U??? Don't care where I ride, so anyone live over that direction?

I would love to ski w/ Mrs. Commish! Tell her to give it a chance. If she doesn't like it then she has some ammo to get what she wants from you later on. Win-win situation for her either way (but she'll like it! )

    Thanks again butt lick

Every time you mention snow it gets worse!

DISCUSSION...TROUGH OVER THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST THIS MORNING WILL DROP SOUTHEAST THROUGH AREA TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY ON ITS WAY TO FORMING A CLOSED LOW OVER THE SOUTHWEST. MID LEVEL FRONTAL ZONE JUST WEST OF BOISE AT 15Z BEST SEEN IN IR SAT IMAGERY. LATEST 12Z ETA SHOWS THIS FEATURE GENERATING LIGHT OROGRAPHIC SNOW SHOWERS TONIGHT AND THURSDAY. THE EMPHASIS IS ON LIGHT. TIME/HEIGHT FROM ETA AT SLC SHOWS CLOUD TOPS ONLY AROUND 11K MSL WITH VERY LIGHT FLOW AND WEAK LIFT. CURRENT FORECAST POPS AND QPF LOOK A TAD GENEROUS GIVEN LATEST 12Z ETA. WILL WAIT AND SEE THE GFS BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES TO FORECAST. INFLUX OF SHALLOW COLD AIR...THEN REBUILDING OF WARM RIDGE ALOFT LATER IN THE WEEK PUTS AREA BACK INTO MORE TYPICAL VALLEY INVERSIONS. BUT WITH LITTLE SNOW COVER TEMPS SHOULD BE CLOSER TO NORMAL RATHER THAN BELOW...WHILE MOUNTAINS WILL BE WARMER THAN NORMAL.

    Angry

Jebus!! Lay off the kid already, blame me, I asked them all to come here.

Blame me if you feel the need to flame someone. Like any of us have power over the weather, cmon now.

So we have no pow, does that mean no fun? I think not.

Back to our regularly scheduled program.
