    Tahoe Maggots (shop question)

Any recommendations for the shop of choice in N. Lake or S. Lake for ski tunes and mountings? I'm getting fitted by Cosmo for new boots on Saturday and I'm thinking about trying to get some turns on Sunday.

Edit: Never mind... just did a search over at pmag... looks like Granite Chief is the spot.

cosmo is a boot fitting legend. what shop is he at now? lemme know how it goes! i am in the market for boots and looking for a good deal -- maybe last years model. im thinking wemoons' salomon xwave 8.

caution: not sure if gary and gunnar at granite are in a tude war with cosmo -- ive heard some rumor about that. might or might not want to mention cosmo when you walk into granite or vice versa. anyone know the dirt/history of that?

Cosmo's Custom Footwerks in Tahoe City

I need to take my AT boots in there and have a lot of work done. Pretty much everyone I've ever talked to says he's The Man in Tahoe.

I tried to catch him early this summer, but he was busy moving his shop. I think he just moved across the street from his old place.

For mounts in South Lake go to Sports LTD at the Y. Good shop.

Sports Ltd has always treated me well, and their selection of high-end freeride stuff is excellent. The tech staff knows their shit, and is free of both JONG and excessive bro-brah. If I have a problem in North Lake I take it there.
