2 spots open for nominations in Maggot camp

A Maggot who chooses to remain anonymous(that's a tough secret to keep) has come forward with yet another sponsorship. So there are 2 spots available for nomination.

The anonymous Maggot is thinking that his ideal choice is someone who is a pretty good skier but could really benefit from the technical instruction as well as the backcountry instruction. He mentioned someone who has a major passion for skiing and maybe hasn't been doing it for that long(6 years or so).

Also, they should have a financial need, in other words a po bastard. Also, they need to have the time and funds(lift tickets, etc.) to be able to make it happen.

Here is the original thread where the nominees below were nominated:

    http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=21055

    Nominated so far are:

    Meats of Evil
    Treskow
    Mr. AG
    DTM
    White Chocolate
    Bdog
    AKPM
    Kristen
    Skier 0178
    Hardrider
    SheRa
    Frozenwater

frozenwater, the guy is living the dream, give him the skills to kill it in the dream

Meats gets my other vote. Kid needs to get his skiing priorities in order. No way he could afford to do this on his own either.

I would say Hardrider meets most of those criteria
He is def. a poor basterd
Time off shouldn't be a problem, since his hours have been severely cut back
Money for lift tickets, I'm sure he could scrounge it up
As far as I know he doesn't know much on anything about digging pits and such in the BC

    there ya have it

    2nd vote, frozen or meat's

Kinda hard to pick from that list. People on the list who can't make it should say so pronto, at least that would narrow it down.

I gotta toss in a vote for the Hardriding one as well.

First of all, he's from Pennsylvania, and we all know that people from flatland states like Penna and Michigan are doomed to suck without some form of help.

Secondly, he's keeping it real. He worked insanely long hours over the summer two seasons ago in PA to move west. And now his reward for all that hard work is skiing as much as possible and living in a $450 dollar trailer. He drinks PBR whenever humanly possible and likes it.

Thirdly, he's a backcountry / snow science moron. 'nuff said.

Fourthly, he's got time. Does he even have a job now?

Fifthly, he's go a funny accent.

Sixthly, I just want to add "sixthly" because I don't think I've ever used this word before.

But seriously, HR is a rippin skier, good peoples, wouldn't take anything like this camp for granted, and could learn a lot and put that knowledge to use.

EDIT: And just need to add....Gordy -> You are the MANG for doing all of this. And all the maggots who are sponsoring others for this (I can't even keep track of them all!) are just amazing. You guys all rule.

    Thumbs up

I, too, nominate Hardrider. A hardworkin, hard-charging ripper who moved out West to become a permanent fixture at Kirkweed. He works oddjobs, such as making football-shaped pizzas and often barters his time and labor as lph's manservant to afford necessities such as skis.

Always fun to hang around, sometimes scary to follow, with a penchant for setting off inbounds slides, hucking to flat landings, and attracting the sexual attention of 30-something year old cougars, Hardrider provides a lot of entertainment to his peers with his on-hill and off-hill antics

Mr.AG will be around and has a pass.

Main reason I was thinking about when the camp possibly conicided with the MINI when all were making that decision. That would not be good for Str8's business. Would not want to interrupt the learning for those that are getting to experience this adventure of a lifetime.

Mr. AG is totally deserving. He definitely reps Alta! Treskow and Kristen are also worthy candidates, but they'd have to fight amongst themselves for who gets to go...

Did we ever figure out if Meats could make it? We may not need to flip a coin.

Oh, and MacDaddy, your "AFC West #1" tagline is just silly.

    Pats all the way.

I'll toss a vote in for Mr AG. I've had a great time with Mr and Mrs Alta on my last 2 trips to Utah. They really took the time to show me what Alta is all about and are definately deserving of something like this.

I'll add another broke bastard who could benefit from the camp- Karma. I know him from Crystal and competing. He hasn't been skiing for long but is super devoted to getting better. He was patrolling at Crystal for 2 years- so yeah, maybe he has some bc skills but he has had very little formal teaching and instruction. He has pretty much taught himself well enough to make patrol but could totally benefit from coaching from the likes of Nobis. Not to mention that the kid has been out of work since october and unless it starts to snow here (ok it is snowing, but we have a warming trend potentially rearing it's ugly head) he won't be working for awhile.

I'm voting for hardrider because he's a bigger jerk than me. Plus, his pants are red. He lives in a trailer, drinks PBR, and likes Wild Turkey. I'm pretty sure he repaired his car using Gaffer's Tape and some Shoe-Goo. Finally, he left East PA and could have moved to any ski resort out there but somehow ended up at Kirkwood. I mean seriously, what's not to like about this guy. The man deserves... no... NEEDS to go to Rock Star Camp.
