    2000 shout out

    2000 posts here at TGR.
Seems like fewer than it once did, as several of you who used to be way behind me (I'm looking at basom, cantdog, roo, and probably a few others) shot way ahead of me.
Also, post counts are meaningless as we can now delete posts and the original pmag post counts aren't added in (and were screwed up worse than a Florida presidential vote count long ago).
However, this momentous post comes only a bit more than a month after the fourth year anniversary of me being a maggot, so I thought it would be appropriate for me to 'recognize' (as the kids say). Maybe I'll even give some props. check out my steeze.
First, thanks to all you wackos for giving me a sorely needed link to 'real' skiing. Here in NYC, I almost never bother even talking to anyone about skiing because what most people here consider 'skiing' seems to be as much about hotels, restaurants, and nightclubs as anything that happens on a mountain. Finding this place four years ago, completely by accident (and never having actually seen an internet bulletin board before), has really helped me with this skiing problem of mine.
Thanks for all the advice, knowledge, and generally good hearted posting that I've found here. There are a bunch of threads floating around right now that amply demonstrate what a great bunch of people maggots are, so I won't go on with that particular love-fest.
And thanks to all of you whom I've met in person, and who to a maggot have been genuinely excellent people. Buster, ice, ACE, Snorkeldeep, pinner, elevens, bigjay, splat, punani, natty, cletus, cantdog, mildbill, basom, vinman, plakespear, 13, sea2ski, gin, WSD, lph, tyrone, roo, APK, chuteme, powderpyg, K2stu, MD, tuffy, jayfrizzo, phUnk, BB, MBS, Huckasoreass, Grizz, powder11, non grata, road trip, Aldo, CUBuck, mountainman, stoy, noodles, Honc...I probably missed a few, but I know it's just my bad memory.
    Thanks to all.
Here's to the next 2000 posts, and skiing with more of you guys!
now let's get some snow on the EC, finally, please.

edit: I wonder why the stuff that I thought I typed in a really small font isn't??

So you going to come up to k-mart this weekend? It's not much, but it beats dirt skiing!

i think i knew dex for at least a year, if not more, before realizing that he was dex. funniest part is, we were always talking about skiing. he's a stand up guy, and a brofessional poster plasterer.

Yeah NYC!! You gonna be around in NYC before the holidays in like 2 weeks. I've only met 2 maggots in my short time on the powder board and now this board. We should have a little NYC maggot get together at a bar, buy you a few drinks for being a 2,000 poster. Whadda think?

    And for your accomplishments...

...we'll put your picture on the very last page in the bottom right hand corner of Powder Magazine Photo Annual. Congrats! (not that I scoured that page for peeps that I knew or anything)

heh, I hadn't even looked at that page, but there he is!

Um, the bald guy towards the middle with the Tremblant pass isn't TJ, is it?

I don't think so. Not enough of the half-crazed, partially sentient dull gleam in his eyes. But I do think that guy had his life stoled for a Hollywood melodrama, too. Shit, I just wrote 'stoled'. I'm typing like Basom. Must be the sake.

Yes, that's my picture, in the very last available spot in the magazine, almost beneath the fold. At least it's not this year's pass picture, in which I was trying to make a funny face, and which Mrs. Rutecki believes I should spend $30 to have re-shot. Not to mention it was taken at 9:00 am after leaving NYC at 3:30 am, with a 45 minute sleep stop in MA just before the VT border.

Danke. I love the thread in which we discover each other. But I can never find it.
I don't mean discover in that way, pervs.

heh, so it is. Now that's a pairing.

And there's McBob! Isn't that Idris right above Bob?

Anyone else we know on there? I see that Matt Wieland had two passes.
