Big fat maybe. I'm gonna check the report in the morning and then make a decision. I may just go for a couple of hours in the am. It all depends on what happens tonight and whether or not it will snow/rain tomorrow. I hate skiing in rain. Got more important things to do.

No go. Cohee's report sounded awful. It's a good thing everyone bailed on today.

It's bad enough being stuck in LA.

It's even worse reading that the 36" of snow is too wet [whine] and warm [cry] to go ski in and skiing in the rain isn't as fun. You wanna know what isn't fun? Being chained to the desk for 12 hours a day six days a week writing reports, running crews, and working with a bunch of guberment officals who's collective IQ amounts to 14, AND READING YOUR BITCHING ABOUT 36" OF FRESH BEING TOO WET!!!

FUCKING GO RIP THE SHIT OUT OF SOMETHING ALREADY!!!!!

If you're going to drive for minimum 6 hours for a day trip to ski cloudy manky shit....I beg to differ.

In all honesty I was game to go...left it up to Greydon (who bailed first), Punani and I were "on the fence" for hours. Told him I'd go if he did, then we got the report from Sam, Manager at Mighty Mountain, and he said its not worth it. At this time it was 63 F in SF, and I was wearing shorts to drive to Tahoe...not a good sign.

So Sapp, now you know where I'm coming from.

Agreed, especially if calling in sick or using a precious vacation day - it's all a cost/benefit analysis . . .

[cough]bullshit[/cough] You called me, I bailed sighting the above (six hours, manky shit, not worth a hookie day), and you all defered to my superior insight. Or was it that you just couldn't stand the thought of skiing without me?

666: My post wasn't really directed at the Gay area maggs, but at the south shore slackers. I mean their 30-45 min away from Kirkwood, and a rocks throw from the Heave and Sierra and they did nothing but bitch about it. Come on. Seriously weak

i had to work today, so i don't count.... but, it literally rained all day long in town, reports from mid mountain heavenly were mank, reports from waterhouse were mank and at 10pm last night when i went to bed, the snow was still melting and dripping off the house. i'd be willing to bet that the trees at kirkwood had no snow on them because it was raining there as well, the wind at the bottom wouldn't have been enough to blow off heavy wet snow while it was falling (especially after 3 feet).

who knows maybe today would have been decent. but those few deep sierra cement days i have been at kirkwood HAVE SUCKED and, have not been worth even a 45 minute drive. gotta agree with arty and hardrider on their call.

Plus, we get to be a little pickier as to when we ski.

    What lph said.

Supposedly, there were a lot of wet slides at Kirkwood yesterday. I heard the area under Ski School (and maybe the whole area under Jim's) slid. Also, lower Oops was complete mank. If Aussie Sam is having to tail gun 103s at elevation, I think I'd rather take the day off.

DJ do you remember Memorial Day two years ago. You, Lego, and myself hit up the Wood cause they openned for just that weekend. Well, remember how bad the bottom half of the mountain was? Now imagine the whole thing is like that. I've never had my legs burn that badly. I was on my tails the entire day, cause you couldn't move otherwise. Sorry, I'll pass. I'm almost 100% from my crash and don't need to go fucking my body up in glop.

I know skiing glop sucks, I'm just venting because I only have four days this season, zero of them pow/glop days. Listening to you guys complain that the storm sucks just reminded me that I don't even have that luxary anymore.

I do hope that that wasn't an observation from work........ Snw like that scares me for exactly that reason.

I'd like to second this prayer!

And DJ, I hear Baldy's been getting hit. In the 28 years I've been on this planet I can't remember Baldy opening this early. Hell, didn't it open on Halloween? As I recall, it usually doesn't open until January. Dude, get your ass over there. It's an easy trip.
